CRISPY HONEY GARLIC FRIED CHICKEN
Number Of Ingredients 17
Steps:
- In a mixing bowl, combine the cubed chicken thighs, curry powder, and soy sauce. Mix well and set aside. For the sauce, combine the water, honey, and brown sugar in a bowl and mix well. In a pan, heat the vegetable oil at medium high heat and cook ginger and garlic until fragrant and soft. Pour the liquid mixture in pan and let cook by stirring occasionally. While the sauce is slowly cooking, mix cornstarch and water in a small bowl to make a slurry. Slowly add the cornstarch slurry into the pan while constantly stirring the mixture. Cook over medium heat until sauce thickens. Add sesame oil and mix well. To make the fried chicken, whisk together the all-purpose flour and the rest of the cornstarch. Make egg wash mixture by cracking two eggs and whisking them thoroughly. Dip seasoned chicken into egg wash then into the flour. Repeat this step once more to double coat the chicken. Place on a plate to rest for frying. Heat a small wok or caste iron pot. Add the oil for deep frying.Gently fry the chicken in batches for about 7 minutes until a nice golden-brown color develops. Then remove from oil and place chicken on drying rack for about 5 minutes. Add the fried chicken into the pan with the cooked sauce and mix well. Top with sesame seeds and green onions. Serve with yummy steamed rice and sautéed Pak Choy. Enjoy!

Steps:
- Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Combine flour, seasoned bread crumbs, Italian seasoning, salt, 1 1/2 teaspoons garlic powder, onion powder, chili powder, paprika, and pepper in a small, shallow bowl.
- Combine milk, egg, honey, lemon juice, and 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder in a separate shallow bowl until well blended.
- Dip chicken pieces first in the flour mixture to coat all sides and shake off excess. Dip into the egg mixture and back into the flour mixture. Set chicken pieces aside on a plate to rest for 10 minutes.
- Pour 1 inch of peanut oil into a deep-fryer or large saucepan and heat to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C) over medium-high heat. Fry chicken a few pieces at a time, without crowding, until golden brown, 3 to 5 minutes per side. Transfer chicken to the prepared baking sheet using tongs.
- Bake in the preheated oven until the chicken is no longer pink at the bone and the juices run clear, 30 to 40 minutes. An instant-read thermometer inserted near the bone should read 165 degrees F (74 degrees C).

HONEY FRIED CHICKEN
This has been a favorite in my family for many years -- we first had it at a small restaurant in New England and wanted to try to make it ourselves. I think we came very close! Hope you enjoy it!

I cannot remember where I got this recipe but it's good. You must appreceiate the flavor of honey to enjoy this. Otherwise, you will think it is just sweetened chicken. This is not my recipe and I can't remember where I got this from. I believe it was from chefs.com
