For a quick pick-me-up, sip this pleasantly sweet coffee, inspired by the taste of a traditional Spanish latte.-Taste of Home Test Kitchen

Number Of Ingredients 6

2 cups hot strong brewed coffee (French or other dark roast)
1/2 cup whole milk
1/4 cup honey
1/8 teaspoon ground cinnamon
Dash ground nutmeg
1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract

Steps:

  • In a small saucepan, combine the coffee, milk, honey, cinnamon and nutmeg. Cook and stir until heated through. (Do not boil.) Remove from the heat; stir in vanilla. Pour into cups or mugs; serve immediately.

This steamed milk recipe is warmed on the stovetop and made frothy using a glass jar, with flavors of honey, cinnamon, and vanilla your kids with be asking for this 'latte' again and again.

Number Of Ingredients 4

1 cup milk (whole works best)
1 tablespoon honey
1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
dash cinnamon*

Steps:

  • Add the milk, honey, cinnamon, and vanilla to a small saucepan over medium-high heat.
  • As the milk begins to warm whisk the ingredients together so the honey disovles. Continue to whisk as the milk gets warmer.
  • After a couple minutes you will see the milk begin to steam** remove from the heat (do NOT let this boil). Pour half of the milk in your serving cup and half in the glass jar. Place the lid tightly on the jar. (Carefully check temperature of the jar to make sure it is not to hot so you don't hurt yourself.)
  • Now vigorously shake the jar fast for 30-60 seconds for the foam to build up. Once your are happy with the amount of foam carefully remove the lid.
  • Using the spoon to keep the foam in the jar pour the milk remaining in the jar into the serving cup. Once all of the milk is out use the spoon to gently move the foam on top of the steamed milk. Sprinkle with a dash of cinnamon if desired and serve immediatley.
