- In a small bowl, cream the butter, sugar and almond paste until light and fluffy. Beat in egg yolk. Gradually add flour and mix well. Shape into a ball, then flatten into a disk. Wrap in plastic and refrigerate for 2 hours or until easy to handle., Divide dough into eight equal portions: divide each portion in half. On a lightly floured surface, roll each half into a 12-in. rope; cut each rope into 2-in. lengths. Place 2 in. apart on greased baking sheets. Bake at 350° for 6-8 minutes or until edges are lightly browned. Remove to wire racks to cool completely., In a microwave, melt chocolate chips; stir until smooth. Dip ends of each cookie in chocolate, then in pistachios. Let stand on waxed paper until set. Store in an airtight container.

- Butter and line a 20cm square tin with non-stick baking parchment. In a large bowl, combine the biscuits and nuts, halving any larger nuts. Melt the chocolate, butter and golden syrup in a bowl set over a pan of simmering water, stirring occasionally until smooth and glossy, then pour this over the biscuit and nut mixture.
- Tip the mixture into the tin, then flatten lightly - it doesn't need to be completely smooth. Chill for at least 2 hrs or overnight before cutting into squares.

Found this gem on a package of walnuts. It's become a favourite here at our house. I cut them into bite size pieces just so I can have a few to savour and not feel any pangs of guilt.

- Heat oven to 350 degrees.
- In a large bowl combine 2 Cups flour, oats, brown sugar, baking soda and salt Add butter, stir until moistened.
- Reserve 1 Cup of crumb mixture for topping.
- Press remaining mixture into the bottom of an ungreased 13 x 9 baking pan.
- Bake for 15 minutes or until lightly brown.
- Remove pan from oven, sprinkle with chocolate morsels and walnuts.
- In a small bowl combine remaining 1/3 Cup flour and caramel topping.
- Drizzle over crust.
- Sprinkle evenly with reserved crumb mixture.
- Bake for 20- 25 minutes or until lightly brown.
- Cool in pan.
- Cut into bars.

- Line an 8-in. square pan with foil. Grease with 1 teaspoon butter; set aside. Butter the sides of a heavy saucepan with 1 teaspoon butter; add the corn syrup, water, sugar, chocolate, salt and remaining butter. Cook and stir over medium heat until smooth and blended, about 6 minutes. , Gradually stir in cream. Cook and stir until a candy thermometer reads 245° (firm-ball stage), about 25 minutes. Remove from the heat; stir in vanilla and walnuts. Pour into prepared pan. , Cool; cut into squares. Store in a covered container in the refrigerator. - Grease cookie sheet and insides of two or more heart-shaped cookie cutters 4 inches long and 2 inches deep. Place cutters on cookie sheet, set aside.
- In large bowl, combine cereal, chocolate chips, marshmallows, candied cherries and pecans, set aside.
- In small heavy saucepan over very low heat, stir white chocolate and shortening until melted and smooth. Remove from heat, cool slightly. Pour chocolate mixture over mixture in bowl, stir gently to coat completely.
- Using greased fingers, press about 2/3 cup mixture firmly and evenly into each prepared cutter on cookie sheet to thickness of up to 3/4 inch. Refrigerate 30 minutes until firm. Depending on number of molds available, you may have to work in batches. Keep unused mixture at room temperature between batches.
- To unmold: Run wide metal spatula under cutters to loosen from cookie sheet. Using fingers, gently push each sweetheart free of the cutter.

- Lightly coat a large rimmed baking sheet with nonstick spray. Combine butter, granulated and brown sugars, kosher salt, and 2 Tbsp. water in a large heavy saucepan fitted with candy thermometer. Cook over medium-high heat, swirling pan occasionally, until thermometer registers 300° (toffee should be a deep golden brown), 7-9 minutes.
- Remove toffee from heat and carefully stir in vanilla. Sprinkle baking soda evenly over surface and stir just until incorporated (be careful not to overmix). Quickly scrape mixture onto prepared baking sheet and tilt from side to side to spread mixture slightly; let cool 10 minutes.
- Drizzle chocolate over toffee and spread evenly with an offset spatula or large metal spoon. Scatter nuts and seeds over top, then sprinkle with sea salt. Let sit until chocolate is firm, at least 2 hours. Break into large shards.
- Do Ahead
- Toffee can be made 3 days ahead. Store airtight at room temperature.
