Peeps Chocolate Cake Bars Recipes

PEEPS CHOCOLATE CAKE BARS

Steps:

• Preheat oven to 350°
• Mix chocolate bars ingredients into a thick dough consistency.
• Line an 8x8 inch baking dish with foil and spray with nonstick.
• Press the dough evenly into the bottom of prepared baking dish.
• Bake for 20 minutes. Allow to cool completely.
• Mix all frosting ingredients until light and fluffy. (about 5 minutes)
• Spread frosting evenly over bars. Refrigerate at least 1 hour.
• Melt chocolate & shortening in microwave 30-60 seconds. Stir vigorously until smooth.
• Remove foil from baking dish and transfer to flat surface.
• Carefully peel foil from bars. Cut into 9 squares.
• Sprinkle with yellow sugar.
• Dip bottoms of Peeps into melted chocolate and gently place on top of chocolate cake bars.
• Dip Robin's Eggs in chocolate and place next to Peep.
• Refrigerate 5 minutes to set chocolate.
• Remove from refrigerator and allow bars to come to room temperature before serving.

PEEPS® GIANT SPRING CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIE

Steps:

• Heat oven to 375°F. Line 12-inch rimmed pizza pan with foil; spray foil with cooking spray. Make cookie mix as directed on pouch. Using lightly floured fingers, press dough evenly in pan. Bake 15 to 17 minutes or until deep golden brown. Cool completely, about 1 hour; remove cookie from pan by lifting sides of foil. Carefully remove foil from cookie, and place on serving platter or tray.
• Add 3/4 cup vanilla frosting to small bowl, and tint with green food color; add 1/2 cup frosting to another small bowl, and tint with pink food color. Spoon tinted frostings and remaining white frosting into 3 separate resealable food-storage freezer bags; set aside. Cut 1/2-inch opening from corner of each bag, and squeeze 1/2-inch mounded circles of alternating colored frosting (green, pink and white) around outer edge of cookie; add sprinkles.
• Squeeze small amount of pink or white frosting onto bottom of each PEEPS® marshmallow chick, and place in circle formation inside outer frosting border of cookie. Add small 3-inch mounded circle of green frosting to center of cookie, filling in center. Using tines of fork, pull up on frosting to get a grass look. Place PEEPS® marshmallow bunnies in center of green frosting; add jelly beans and additional sprinkles, as desired.
• To serve, cut into pie-shaped wedges, including at least one PEEPS® marshmallow chick or bunny on each.

PEPPERMINT PEEPS® HOT CHOCOLATE MUG CAKE

Steps:

• Place paper baking cup in each of 20 regular-size muffin cups. Spray insides of paper baking cups with cooking spray. In large bowl, beat cake mix, water, oil and eggs with electric mixer on low speed until moistened, then on medium speed 2 minutes, scraping bowl occasionally.
• Spoon batter evenly into 20 muffin cups. Freeze until completely frozen, about 6 hours. Remove from muffin cups, and place into two 1-gallon freezer bags, removing as much air as possible. Freeze up to 3 months.
• To make one mug cake, spray microwavable mug (about 12 oz) with cooking spray. Remove paper baking cup from frozen cake batter, and place in bottom of mug. Cut 1 PEEPS® chick in half; cut one half into 4 to 5 pieces, and drop into mug on top of frozen cake batter; reserve remaining half for another mug cake.
• Microwave uncovered on High 45 to 50 seconds or until cake is set on top and edge pulls away from side of mug. Top with about 1 tablespoon chocolate frosting. Top with whole PEEPS® chick; serve.
