PHILLY CHEESESTEAKS CUPS

Philly Cheesesteak Cups takes your favorite sandwich and turns it into hand held bites that are cheesy, delicious and ready in 30 minutes!

Number Of Ingredients 10

1 Tbsp unsalted butter
½ small onion (diced)
½ green bell pepper (diced)
1 clove garlic (minced)
½ pound lean ground beef
1 Tbsp Worcestershire Sauce
1 tsp Montreal steak seasoning
1 can crescent roll dough sheet
4 slices provolone cheese (cut into 4ths)
1 scallion (thinly sliced for garnish, optional)

Steps:

  • Preheat the oven to 375°F.
  • Place a large skillet over medium-low heat, once hot, melt the butter and cook the onions and bell pepper until softened, stirring occasionally, 5-8 minutes. Add the garlic to the pan and cook until fragrant, 30 seconds.
  • Add the ground beef to the skillet, break it up, and brown the meat until there is no pink left. Drain off any excess fat.
  • Add the Worcestershire sauce and steak seasoning, mix in to combine, set to the side off the heat.
  • Spray 8 sections of a muffin tin with baking spray, set aside. Cut the crescent dough into 8 equal squares. Press the dough into the greased muffin tin.
  • Add one piece of cheese to the bottom of each piece of dough. Evenly spoon the meat mixture on top.
  • Add another piece of cheese on top of the meat. Close the cups by folding over the corners on top.
  • Bake for 15 minutes until golden brown. Take out of the sections and garnish with scallions, optional.

2 tablespoon butter (or oil)
1 onion (sliced)
1 green bell pepper (sliced)
1 pound roast beef (sliced from the deli)
8 ounces cream cheese
2 8 ounce refrigerated crescent rolls
4 slices Swiss cheese

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
  • In a large skillet, saute onion and pepper in butter over medium heat until they become soft and onions become transparent.
  • Coarsely chop roast beef and add to onion/pepper mix.
  • Stir for about 2-3 minutes or until roast beef becomes hot. Add cream cheese, stirring until cream cheese is melted and coats the roast beef. Remove from heat.
  • Separate crescents dough into triangles and press flat.
  • Slice each Swiss cheese slice into 4 strips and lay each strip over each crescent triangle.
  • Scoop about 2 tablespoons of roast beef mix over each triangle and roll up, pinching the sides of the crescent so cheese doesn't ooze out.
  • Place crescent rolls on an ungreased cookie sheet and bake at 375 degrees for 10-13 minutes or until golden brown.

Here's a deliciously downsized version of the ever-popular Philly cheesesteak. For perfect bite-size snacks, the sandwich ingredients are layered on waffle-cut fries instead of buns.

1 package (22 ounces) frozen waffle-cut fries
1 medium onion, halved and sliced
1/2 small green pepper, halved and sliced
1/2 small sweet red pepper, halved and sliced
3 tablespoons canola oil, divided
1/2 teaspoon salt, divided
3/4 pound beef ribeye steak, cut into thin strips
1/4 teaspoon pepper
3 tablespoons ketchup
6 tablespoons process cheese sauce

Steps:

  • Bake 18 large waffle fries according to package directions (save remaining fries for another use). Meanwhile, in a large skillet, saute onion and peppers in 1 tablespoon oil until tender. Sprinkle with 1/8 teaspoon salt. Remove and keep warm., In the same pan, saute steak in remaining oil in batches for 45-60 seconds or until desired doneness. Sprinkle with pepper and remaining salt. On each waffle fry, layer the beef, onion mixture, ketchup and cheese sauce. Serve warm.

½ cup diced fresh mushrooms
¼ cup diced onion
¼ cup diced green bell pepper
6 ounces frozen thinly sliced steak (such as Steak-umm®), thawed
2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
1 tablespoon soy sauce
2 ounces cream cheese, softened
½ teaspoon parsley flakes
2 (1.9 ounce) packages mini phyllo tart shells
½ cup shredded mozzarella cheese

Steps:

  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Place phyllo shells on a baking sheet.
  • Melt butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add mushrooms, onion, and bell pepper. Cook until onion is translucent and mushrooms have softened, about 5 minutes. Add steak, Worcestershire sauce, and soy sauce; cook for 5 minutes.
  • Meanwhile, mix cream cheese and parsley together in a large bowl. Add cooked steak and vegetable mixture and stir to combine. Spoon mixture into the phyllo shells and sprinkle mozzarella cheese over top.

  • Heat oven to 350°F. In 10-inch skillet, melt butter over medium-high heat. Add steak strips; cook 8 to 10 minutes, stirring frequently, until no longer pink. Remove steak from skillet; place on plate. Add bell pepper and onion to skillet; cook about 5 minutes, stirring occasionally, until crisp-tender. Return cooked steak to skillet; mix well. If desired, add salt and pepper to taste.
  • Unroll 1 can of dough onto ungreased cookie sheet, firmly press perforations and edges to seal. Press or roll into 13x7-inch rectangle.
  • Spoon heaping cup of steak mixture in 2-inch-wide strip lengthwise down center of dough to within 1/4 inch of each end. Sprinkle 1/2 cup of the cheese over steak mixture.
  • Make cuts 1 inch apart on long sides of rectangle just to edge of filling. For braided appearance, fold strips of dough at an angle halfway across filling with ends slightly overlapping, alternating from side to side. Fold ends of braid under to seal. On second ungreased cookie sheet, repeat with remaining can of dough, steak mixture and cheese. Brush braids with beaten egg.
