NO YEAST PIZZA

No Yeast Pizza image

Jamie Oliver's No Yeast Pizza ~ this easy 30 minute pizza recipe is adaptable to all your favorite toppings and everybody loves it!

Provided by Sue Moran

Categories     Dinner Recipes

Number Of Ingredients 12

2 cups (250 grams) all purpose flour
3 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
olive oil
6 small sausages in casings
1 tsp Italian herb blend (more to taste)
1/2 tsp red pepper flakes (or to taste)
pinch salt
fresh cracked black pepper to taste
1/4 red onion, thinly sliced
a few green olives
jarred marinated tomatoes, chopped or sliced

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 475F
  • Whisk the flour, baking powder, and salt together in a mixing bowl. Measure out a cup (250ml) of water, and slow add, while stirring, just until a soft dough comes together. I usually need between a 1/2 and 3/4 of a cup. If the dough is too wet, add a bit more flour. If the dough is dry and won't come together, add more water slowly.
  • Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface and knead for a minute or two until it becomes smooth and elastic. Flour your hands if they're sticking. Cover loosely with plastic and set aside.
  • Heat a 10-inch cast iron skillet (or other similar skillet that can to into the hot oven) on medium high with about a tablespoon of olive oil. Squeeze the sausage meat out of their casings, right into the pan. Stir in the Italian herbs, red pepper flakes, salt and pepper. Add the onions, olives, and tomatoes and stir fry for a few minutes until the sausage is nicely browned. Remove everything to a plate.
  • Put the dough into the same pan and pat it out to the edges with your fingers. Lay down a layer of shredded mozzarella cheese, then put the toppings on and spread them out evenly. Add a little more cheese over that, if you like.
  • Bake for 10 - 15 minutes or until crisp and golden. Slide out of the pan to slice.

NO-YEAST PIZZA DOUGH

No-Yeast Pizza Dough image

The remarkable thing about this easy pizza dough is that it contains no yeast -- and no yeast means no waiting. The pizza takes about 20 minutes from start to finish, and comes out fluffy and crisp on the bottom.

Provided by Food Network Kitchen

Time 20m

Yield 3 to 4 servings

Number Of Ingredients 8

1 1/3 cups all-purpose flour, plus more for dusting
1 tablespoon coarse cornmeal
1 3/4 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon granulated sugar
1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
1/4 teaspoon baking soda
2 tablespoons olive oil
Assorted pizza toppings such as sauce, shredded cheese, meat and vegetables, as desired

Steps:

  • Position an oven rack about 8 inches from the broiler element and preheat the broiler.
  • Combine the flour, cornmeal, baking powder, sugar, salt and baking soda in a food processor and pulse to combine. With the motor running, add 1/2 cup water and process, scraping down the sides as needed, until the flour is incorporated and the dough comes together to form a ball that is still slightly sticky.
  • Lightly flour a work surface and your hands. Form the dough into a neat ball between your hands and put on the work surface. Sprinkle with flour and roll into a 10-inch circle.
  • Spread the olive oil in a 12-inch cast-iron skillet to cover the bottom. Put the dough in the skillet and flip so both sides are coated in oil. Top with the desired toppings.

EASY NO YEAST PIZZA DOUGH

Easy No Yeast Pizza Dough image

I've made this several times and it always turns out good. Make sure you knead the dough for the required 5-7 minutes. I have added dried herbs and onion flakes right into the dough as well.

Provided by Chef Joey Z.

Categories     Breads

Time 50m

Yield 4 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 5

1 1/2 cups white spelt flour
1 tablespoon baking powder (non-aluminum)
1/2 teaspoon sea salt
1/2 cup filtered water
2 tablespoons olive oil

Steps:

  • Preheat your oven to 400'F.
  • Place the flour, baking powder and the salt into a bowl. Make a well in the center and add the water and oil.
  • Combine by gradually incorporating the flour into the olive oil and water. You may want to add a little more water if necessary.
  • Transfer the dough to a floured board and knead it at least for 5-7 minutes.
  • Let the dough rest in an air tight plastic bag while you prepare the toppings for your pizza.
  • Once the toppings are made, set them aside and take the dough out of the plastic bag.
  • Put a tiny bit of oil in the center of your pizza pan and with your hands and finger tips spread the dough to cover the pan. I use a 12 inch pizza pan. You could probably stretch it to 15 inches, but it would be a thinner crust.
  • Place your pizza sauce on the dough and then cover with your favorite toppings.
  • Pop it into the preheated oven. Check it after about 20 minutes to see how the crust is browning. Some ovens are hotter then others, so this is a good habit to get into.
  • Bon Appetit!
  • P.S.: If you change the ingredients in this recipe I can't guarantee it's going to turn out the way mine did. But, hey, experiment with it. Thanks for choosing my recipe!

This quick and easy no-yeast pizza dough only takes 15 minutes to make and is a great substitute for the classic when ingredients are in short supply.

Provided by Beth - Budget Bytes

Time 30m

Number Of Ingredients 5

2 cups all-purpose flour ($0.61)
1 Tbsp baking powder ($0.12)
3/4 tsp salt ($0.03)
1 Tbsp olive oil ($0.16)
1 cup water ($0.00)

Steps:

  • Preheat the oven to 425ºF. In a large bowl, stir together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
  • Add the olive oil to the water, then pour them both into the bowl with the dry ingredients. Stir until a shaggy ball of dough forms and no more dry flour remains on the bottom of the bowl. If the dough does not come together in one piece or there is still dry flour in the bowl, add a small amount of water (1 Tbsp at a time) until the dough comes together.
  • Turn the dough out onto a clean, lightly floured surface and knead just a few times, or until the dough feels evenly mixed (no hard or dry pieces). Let the dough rest for about 5 minutes to relax the gluten.
  • Stretch or roll the dough out into your desired shape, making sure not to stretch it to less than ¼-inch thick.
  • Place the dough on your preferred pan (prepared with either parchment or a good dusting of cornmeal or flour), then top the pizza with your favorite sauce and toppings. Bake the pizza for about 15 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and slightly browned on top. Slice and serve immediately.

Divide the dough into 2 equal pieces and form each one into a ball. Cover the dough balls with plastic wrap or a large upside-down bowl. Let rest for at least 15 minutes or up to 2 hours before using.
  • Roll or stretch the dough as you would any other pizza dough, transfer it to an oiled baking sheet or floured pizza peel (if using a baking stone/steel), and top it with whatever toppings you like.
  • If you're using a baking sheet, bake the pizza at 500°F for 10 to 12 minutes or until the crust is golden. If using a baking stone/steel, place the stone or steel in the bottom third of the oven, preheat to 500°F or as hot as your oven can get, and then turn on the broiler. Shimmy the pizza from the peel to the stone and broil the pizza for 5 to 7 minutes, until the crust and toppings have begun to blister.

"NO YEAST" PIZZA DOUGH

Make a homemade pizza in 15 minutes from start to finish using this "no yeast" pizza dough. This is the easiest pizza dough I have ever made. No time needed to rise, just mix the dough, add it is ready for your favorite toppings. If you have ever wanted to try making your pizza from scratch but have been afraid to try making your own dough, then this recipe is for you.

Time 15m

Number Of Ingredients 5

2 ¼ Cups All Purpose Flour
1 Tablespoon Baking Powder
¼ Teaspoon Salt
1 Cup Milk (or Water)
½ Cup Butter (room temperature)

Steps:

  • Preheat the oven to 450 degrees Fahrenheit. Prepare the pizza pan by lining it with parchment paper or a light coating of oil.
  • In a large mixing bowl combine the dry ingredients, all-purpose flour, baking powder, and salt. Then add the milk or water and softened butter. Today I mixed this by hand, and it literally just takes 3 minutes to mix. This can be made with a mixer using a dough hook or a food processor. The mixing time is about 40 seconds if using one of those methods.
  • Roll out the dough by sprinkling a bit of flour onto the surface and the rolling pin. Remove the ball of dough from the bowl and tap into the flour on the top and bottom to help reduce the dough sticking to the rolling pin. Add a bit more flour to the surface as needed until the dough is no longer sticky.
  • Add the rolled-out dough to the pizza pan or a baking sheet. I like to use a smaller rolling pin to help roll out until the thickness is approximately ¼ inch.
  • Add your desired pizza sauce and toppings. Bake for 12-15 minutes.
