TEXAS TOAST
Texas toast is quite simple. It's just a decent white bread that has been sliced at about twice the thickness of regular sliced bread, then liberally slathered with softened butter before being griddled to a golden brown. The exterior should be buttery and crunchy, while the interior remains spongy and sweet - perfect for mopping up white pepper gravy.

- Spray grill rack with cooking spray.
- Heat coals or gas grill.
- Spray both sides of bread slices with cooking spray.

Steps:
- Preheat the oven to 425°F and have ready a large baking sheet.
- Place the butter, oil, garlic powder, and Kosher salt in a small, microwave-safe bowl. Cover with plastic wrap, and microwave for about 30 seconds (or until melted).
- Stir while the butter mixture is hot until the spices dissolve. Add the parsley and stir once more.
- Slice the bread into generous 1"-thick slices using a sharp serrated knife and lay on the baking sheet. Brush both sides of each slice of bread generously with the garlic butter.
- Bake on the middle shelf for 4 minutes. Remove the bread from the oven, turn over each slice, and return to bake for another 3-4 minutes. Serve and enjoy!

- Mix the butter into the dry herbs, salt & pepper until its evenly combined.

- Preheat oven to 375 degrees F.
- Start by mashing the garlic clove. Finely mince it with a large knife. Then turn your knife horizontally with the sharp edge facing away from you. Use the edge to press down on the clove of garlic and then pull towards you, mashing it into the cutting board. Do this several times over all of the garlic until it is a paste texture.
- In a bowl combine the softened butter, garlic paste, and fresh parsley. Stir together until well combined.
- Butter the 6 slices of bread with 2 teaspoons of the garlic butter on each side. Make sure to get the butter to the edges!
- Place the butter bread on a baking sheet and bake for 10 minutes at 375 degrees F. After 10 minutes flip each slice over and continue to bake for 5 minutes more.
