SMOKED CREAM CHEESE WITH PEPPER JELLY



Smoked Cream Cheese with Pepper Jelly image

Fire up the grill and smoke infuse the perfect pepper jelly and cream cheese appetizer recipe to share with your friends and family.

8 oz. Cream Cheese Block (cold)
1 Tbsp. All Purpose BBQ Rub
1/2 cup Pepper Jelly
Garnish with extra pickled jalapenos and bacon

Steps:

  • 1. Preheat your grill to 250 F. and set it for indirect heat.
  • 2. To a small cast iron skillet, add the block of cream cheese to the pan. Use a paring knife to score the top of it in a crosshatch patter if desired.
  • 3. Coat the cream cheese in the rub on all sides, bottom, and the top. Place on the grill and smoke for up to two hours. It should puff up slightly and be hot all the way through.
  • 4. Remove from the grill and top with the pepper jelly. Add sliced jalapenos and bacon pieces over the top if desired.
  • 5. Serve with toasted bread rounds, crackers, and vegetables for healthier way to enjoy this dip!

May be served in a bowl or... I like to slice the top of a green bell pepper off, clean the seeds out, then scoop in the cream cheese mixture. Serve with crackers around it. It looks so pretty. You can slice the green pepper up, and also eat it with the spread. If you prefer, you can also make this with turkey or ham.

1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese with chives
½ cup creamy salad dressing, e.g. Miracle Whip ™
1 pinch garlic powder
1 teaspoon lemon juice concentrate
1 (16 ounce) package thinly sliced smoked beef

Steps:

  • In a medium-size mixing bowl, combine cream cheese, salad dressing, garlic powder, lemon juice and smoked beef. Mix well. Cover and refrigerate for at least one hour to let all of the flavors mix.
