6 tablespoons margarine, plus 2 teaspoons
2 cups Splenda sugar substitute
4 eggs
3/4 cup unsweetened applesauce
1 tablespoon vanilla
1 cup cake flour
3/4 cup cocoa powder
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 cup walnuts, chopped

Steps:

  • Spray 7 x 11 biscuit pan or brownie pan with butter flavored spray.
  • In large bowl combine butter, splenda, eggs with whisk. Stir in applesauce and vanilla.
  • In small bowl combine flour, cocoa, baking powder and salt. Add flour mixture to butter mixture and mix gently just to combine. Fold in walnuts. Spread in pan and bake on 350 degrees for 20-26 minutes or until toothpick comes out clean. Cool on wire rack!

2 ounces unsweetened dark chocolate
3 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
⅔ cup Splenda® Brown Sugar Blend
½ cup almond flour
¼ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
½ teaspoon baking powder
½ teaspoon salt

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350°F. Line an 8" square baking pan with parchment paper and lightly coat with cooking spray.
  • In a microwave-safe bowl, combine butter and chocolate. Microwave for 1 minute or until melted; stir together.
  • In a large bowl, combine butter-chocolate mixture with eggs, vanilla, and Splenda Brown Sugar Blend; mix until smooth.
  • Add remaining ingredients and continue mixing until combined. Transfer batter to prepared pan and smooth top with a spatula.
  • Bake for 20-23 minutes or until a wooden pick inserted into center of brownie comes out clean.
  • Cut and serve.

Brownies - Splenda version
This simple brownie recipe uses easy to find ingredients and tastes delicious. Give it a try.
The other version of this recipe turns out better using Nature Sweet, but I would like everyone to be able to make these; not just folks who have our Nature Sweet. I often bake this recipe in a loaf pan for thicker brownies.
1/2 cup butter
1/2 cup cocoa powder (Ghiradelli unsweetened cocoa is the best and available in many supermarkets)
2 large eggs
1 cup Splenda Granular
1/2 teaspoon vanilla
Pinch of salt
1/4 cup all purpose flour
1/2 cup chopped walnuts or pecans - optional

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 300 degrees. Melt butter and cocoa in a small saucepan over low heat stirring until smooth - remove from heat to cool. Beat eggs in a medium bowl until thick and smooth, add Splenda, vanilla, and salt - stir in cooled chocolate mixture. Fold in flour and walnuts. Pour into an 8 inch square pan that has been lightly sprayed with nonstick cooking spray. Bake 12 to 14 minutes or until firm but still slightly soft near center. Brownies are best when slightly under-baked. Cool before cutting into 2 inch squares. Makes 16 brownies - Calories 84, fat 7g, carbs 4.5g, protein 2g

1/2 cup chopped pecans
24 pecan halves

Steps:

  • In a glass bowl, melt butter and chocolate in microwave, stirring until completely melted.
  • Stir in applesauce, jam and sugar until well blended.
  • Lightly beat egg with egg white and vanilla.
  • Stir in chocolate mixture. gently stir in flour and pecans.
  • Grease mini muffin tin with light cooking spray.
  • Spoon batter into pan up to the top.
  • Top each brownie with one pecan half.
  • Bake at 350 for 10 minutes.
  • Let cool for a minute before removing from pan.

1/4 cup brown sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/2 cup semisweet chocolate, melted
1/2 cup butter, melted
1 (300 ml) can eagle brand sweetened condensed milk (regular or low-fat)
1/2 cup all-purpose flour
1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 cup chocolate chips (semi-sweet chocolate, milk chocolate, white chocolate or in a combination)

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350°F Grease or line mini muffin pans with paper liners.
  • Whisk eggs, sugar and vanilla together in a large bowl. Add melted chocolate and butter. Stir well. Stir in sweetened condensed milk.
  • Stir in flour, cocoa powder, baking powder and salt. Add chocolate chips.
  • Spoon batter into prepared muffin cups.
  • Bake in preheated oven for 15 minutes or just until the tops are firm to the touch.
  • TIPS: use a mini ice cream scoop to place batter in muffin cups. Use any flavor chocolate chips you have on hand or a combination.

2/3 cup Splenda granular
2/3 cup all-purpose flour
1/3 cup cocoa
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/3 cup soft margarine
2 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla
1/3 cup unsweetened applesauce (ALLEN'S by MOTT'S)
1/3 cup chopped walnuts (optional)

Steps:

  • Mix tog splenda, flour, cocoa, baking powder and salt; and set aside.
  • Beat tog margarine, eggs and vanilla for 1 minute.
  • Add applesauce and beat until blended.
  • Add flour mixture and nuts until blended.
  • Spread evenly in a greased 8 inch square cake pan.
  • Bake at 350 defF for about 15 minutes or until tester inserted in centre comes out clean.
  • Cool on rack.
  • Store in a coverd container in the fridge.
