SPONGEBOB-INSPIRED KRABBY PATTIES
Steps:
- Make the Burger Patties: Heat a grill pan or sauté pan over medium heat. As it heats, combine ground beef, Old Bay, pepper and salt. Form into four equally sized patties, about 1/3 lb apiece. Set on a platter next to the stovetop. Coat the warmed grill pan with cooking spray and place patties on the pan, cooking each side about 4-5 minutes, or until cooked through to your desired doneness.
- Use a large star-shaped cookie cutter to cut each cheese slice into a star shape. Place the star-shaped cheese on each burger patty, in the last 30 seconds or so of cooking, so it melts a little. Set burger patties aside.
- Make King Neptune's Poseidon Powder Aioli: Stir mayo and Old Bay until thoroughly combined.
- Assemble the Sandwich: Spread Poseidon Powder Aioli on the bottom of each bun. Top with a burger patty, ketchup, mustard, pickles, onion slices, tomato and lettuce. Place the top bun on each burger. Serve.

- Directions for patties: Mix crab, egg, breadcrumbs, mayonnaise, chives, mustard, lemon juice, celery seed, onion powder, pepper and hot sauce in a large bowl. Form into 6 patties. Heat oil and butter in a large nonstick skillet over medium heat until the butter stops foaming. Cook the patties until golden brown, about 4 minutes per side. Directions for onion rings: Place the onions, eggs, and flour into separate shallow bowls. In another shallow bowl, stir together the bread crumbs, salt, pepper, cayenne, oregano, basil, and red pepper. Heat oil in a heavy skillet or deep-fryer to 365 degrees F (180 degrees C). Dip rings of onion into flour, then into the egg, and then into the bread crumb mixture, shaking off any excess after each dip. Carefully drop each onion ring into the hot oil, and fry for about 30 seconds on each side, or until golden. Remove from hot oil to paper towels to drain. Straight from the vaults of the Krusty Krab, here is the "official" recipe for Krabby Patties. My kids (now teenagers) thought they were tasty and nostalgic, and the grownups just liked them, as a delicious change of pace. I served them on half pita rounds, with shredded lettuce, mayonaise, and cocktail sauce. A side of hush puppies and seaweed (spinach) carries the theme a little farther. Sponge Bob likes his Krabby Patties with peanut butter, but that sounds pretty nasty to me.

Steps:
- In a large bowl mix the fish, imitation crab, potatoes, green onion, parsley and Old Bay seasoning together.
- Using a 1/3 cup measure, divide the mixture into 20 portions.
- While keeping hands dusted well with the flour, shape the portions into rounds and flatten them into burger shapes.
- Place the cheese on the middle of 10 of the burgers, and top each with one of the other burgers. Shape and mold the two into one larger Krabby Patty.
- Coat the Krabby Patties with egg and the bread crumbs.
- Heat the oil in a pan or griddle, and cook each patty over a moderate heat for 15 - 20 minutes, turning once until the fish is done and the outsides are well browned.
- Serve immediately.
