THE $250 COOKIE RECIPE
Almost everybody has heard the one about the woman lunching at the Neiman Marcus Cafe in Dallas, who enjoyed the chocolate chip cookies so much that she asked for the recipe. For "only two-fifty," the waitress said, it was hers. But when the credit card bill arrived, the woman found the total near $300. Turns out the recipe cost $250, the story goes. In 1997, after years of enduring the myth, Neiman Marcus came up with a recipe - and gave it out for free. It's a delicious variation on chocolate chip cookies, using ground oatmeal, nuts and adding extra chocolate with a grated Hershey bar (you can use any brand you love).

GIANT BUCKEYE COOKIE
I'm from Ohio, and we love our buckeye candy! Buckeyes are a delicious combination of peanut butter and chocolate, which is exactly what this cookie is. All you need is a box of cake mix, a few common pantry ingredients, and voila-you have a tasty dessert ready for family and friends in under an hour. You can customize it, too, by substituting other mix-ins for the chocolate chips. We serve it warm with ice cream or whipped cream. -Arianna Harding, Cincinnati, Ohio

MILLION DOLLAR COOKIES
Sugar cookie with a delightful blend of flavors and crispy edges. The first time I tasted this cookie I just said "wow". It's my favorite cookie jar cookie and I highly recommended it. If you bake and ship to loved ones, this cookie travels very well even in summer heat. I use bubble wrap between layers and they survive the trip to Iraq.

Steps:
- Oven 350° for 12-15 minutes until edges are slightly brown.
- Cream fats and sugars until fluffy.
- Add egg and beat until absorbed.
- Add flavorings to creamed mixture.
- Sift dry ingredients together into separate bowl and blend together.
- Add dry to creamed mixture and mix just until flour is incorporated; do not over mix.
- Chill dough.
- Roll into balls and flatten on cookie sheet with glass bottom dipped in sugar.
- My addition of some butter allows the fats and sugars to crème to a fluffy consistency superior to Crisco alone. Butter has a small percentage of water that helps build volume and break down the sugars. The use of all butter will result in a softer cookie if this is your preference. This important 1st stage of preparation will make good cookies, blue ribbon winners.

BUCKEYE COOKIES III
These are like little peanut butter and chocolate balls. You basically mix it all up together. It is a perfect recipe to do at a sleepover or for parties. It is pretty simple and it really doesn't take too long. It takes about as long as chocolate chip cookies do, maybe a little longer, but if you love chocolate and peanut butter, you'll love this.
