1 (15 ounce) can tomato sauce
1/4 cup water
1 teaspoon sugar
1/4 teaspoon dried oregano
1/4 teaspoon dried basil leaves
1/4 teaspoon dried thyme
1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon black pepper
1 whole bay leaf
1/2 teaspoon lemon juice

Steps:

  • Combine all ingredients in a small saucepan.
  • Cook over medium heat until sauce starts to boil.
  • Lower heat and simmer, covered,for 30 to 45 minutes or until it is as thick as you like it.
  • Makes enough for 2 pizzas.

  • Simmer the tomato sauce with the seasonings for about 20 minutes.
  • You may alter the amounts of the seasonings to suit your tastes.

1 tablespoon minced garlic
1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
3/4 cup half & half
1/3 cup Parmesan cheese
1/4 cup parsley

Steps:

  • In large saucepan, melt butter. Sauté garlic in the butter over medium heat for 1 minute, until the garlic is tender. Remove from heat. Stir in flour, blend until smooth. Return to heat and gradually add half and half. Stir in cheese and parsley. Heat until sauce thickened and smooth. Use for garlic chicken pizza or for dipping breadsticks.
