Farmer's Cheese Donut Holes (Ponchiki) are bite-sized morsels of goodness. A Ukrainian spin on an American breakfast favorite!

2 cups Farmer's Cheese
1/2 cup sugar
1 1/2 cup flour
2 tsp baking powder
2 eggs
Oil (for frying)

Steps:

  • Whisk eggs and sugar together.
  • Add cheese and baking powder to the mixture, combining until you get a smooth and even texture.
  • Using a spatula or slotted spoon, slowly fold your flour into the wet mixture in thirds.
  • With an ice cream scoop, portion out a small round of dough and drop it directly into the preheated oil. Preheat oil in a deep frying pan to medium-low. Flip each round gently with a fork until each side turns golden brown.
  • Carefully lift each doughnut out onto a cooling rack lined with paper towels. Sprinkle with powdered sugar or drizzle with chocolate syrup or your favorite jam.
