BAKED GOLDEN GARLIC CHICKEN
This is a warm, comforting baked chicken dish with a golden, garlicky crunch. The curry powder works unexpectedly well with the Parmesan cheese, and the dish is particularly good with buttered egg noodles and a crisp salad. Prep time includes marinating in the fridge.

Steps:
- Beat egg yolk and add garlic and curry powder.
- Place chicken in egg mixture in a glass dish and turn to coat.
- Cover and refrigerate overnight.
- Preheat oven to 400 degrees F.
- Melt 6 tbsp.
- butter in the bottom of an 8x8-inch baking dish.
- Combine bread crumbs, Parmesan cheese, garlic powder, salt and pepper.
- Dip and coat marinated chicken in crumb mixture and place in baking dish.
- Sprinkle more of the remaining crumb mixture onto the chicken breasts (you won't use it all- unless you want to!) Bake for 20 minutes on each side, or until chicken is no longer pink inside.
- Remove from oven and top each chicken breast with two thin pats of butter; uncover and bake 5 to 10 minutes longer.
- Serve with a smile!

GOLDEN GARLIC MASHED POTATOES
This is a deliciously rich mashed potato recipe with a subtle garlic flavor. Because of the richness, the serving sizes are smaller. The recipe is very loosely based on a recipe by Anne Burrell, a chef on the Food Network.

Steps:
- Place the potatoes and garlic in a medium sauce pan and cover with cold water. Add a generous amount of salt to the pan (I use 1 - 2 tbsp). Bring to a boil and cook until the potatoes are tender (about 20 minutes). Drain the potatoes and garlic. Mash them with a potato masher or pass through a ricer or food mill. Important - don't use a food processor or mixer if you don't want a pasty result.
- While mashing the potatoes, heat the cream for a few seconds in the microwave until it's warm. Add about a third of the cream to the potatoes along with a tbsp of butter. Stir until incorporated. Repeat the process two more times.
- Taste for seasoning and add more salt if necessary. If you need to keep them warm until the rest of the meal is finished, cover and place in a 200 degree oven.
GOLDEN GARLIC BREAD

- Combine the butter, cheese, garlic and basil; spread over cut sides of bread. Place on an ungreased baking sheet. Broil 4 in. from the heat until golden brown, about 3 minutes. Cut into 3-in. pieces.

GOLDEN GARLIC BREAD
I found this recipe years ago in a magazine and thought it was great...over the years I have altered it a bit for myself (I just spread the butter mixture on the bread and then sprinkle the cheddar cheese) but this is how I had copied it down. It was so good I thought everyone should have it! Enjoy!

- In a small mixing bowl, beat butter and mayonnaise until blended.
- Stir in cheeses, onions, Italian seasoning and garlic.

This is a different twist on the classic popover. It's from the June 1983 issue of Bon Apetit magazine from "The Cooks Exchange- Readers Best Recipes" and won awards in a bake-off in Gilroy, California, the nation's garlic capital.Delicious with roast pork or serve them with butter, cream cheese, or a good sharp cheddar.

Steps:
- Position rack in lower half of oven and preheat to 450 degrees.
- Place 1/2 teaspoon shortening in each cup of a heavy-duty muffin pan or cast iron popover pan.
- Heat in oven until shortening is almost smoking, about 5 to 10 minutes.
- Meanwhile, sift flour, seasoning, salt and baking powder in medium bowl.
- Beat eggs in large bowl with electric mixer until just foamy.
- Add milk and stir through.
- Add flour mixture to eggs and milk and mix until smooth;stir in crushed garlic.
- Fill popover cups about 2/3 full.
- Bake until popovers are puffed and tops are golden brown, about 20 to 25 minutes.
- Do not open oven door for the first 20 minutes.
- Serve popovers immediately.
