Our copycat version of Wendy's Strawberry Lemonade recipe is the ideal drink for serving through summer. The fresh flavors of strawberry and lemon are refreshing for the whole family to enjoy. In our recipe, we make homemade lemonade for an even brighter zingy flavor. The strawberries are served inside the lemonade for freshness and a treat at the end of your drink, alternatively you can blend the strawberries to create a smooth lemonade. Steps:
- Using a vegetable peeler remove the zest from the lemon in strips.
- Slice the lemons in half and squeeze out the juice into a bowl.
- Place a saucepan on medium heat and add the sugar, water and lemon zest.
- Bring the water to a boil then reduce the heat and simmer for 5 minutes.
- Remove the saucepan from the heat and allow the lemon syrup to cool at room temperature.
- Strain the lemon syrup to remove the peel then stir in the freshly squeezed lemon juice.
- Fill a tall glass with ice cubes then top with strawberries, pour the lemonade into the glass and stir to bring the lemon and strawberry together.
