3/4 c black cherry concentrate (no fruit juice) (can be purchased at health food
4 Tbsp panax ginseng roots per quart of tincture
2 Tbsp part chinese star anise pods
4 Tbsp parts gingerroot
4 Tbsp parts damiana leaf
4 Tbsp parts fo-ti-tieng * see below
4 Tbsp parts sassafras root bark
2 Tbsp part astragalus root
2 tsp part saw palmetto berries
1 bottle 80-100 proof vodka (750 ml)

Steps:

  • 1. Make a tincture from everything but the cherry concentrate and steep for 6-8 weeks. The longer the better for this mixture. When done steeping, strain.
  • 2. Add black cherry concentrate.
  • 3. Shake the contents well and rebottle in a sterized jar with a tight-fitting lid.
  • 4. To Use: Use 1/8 cup 2-3 times a week for a few months at a time, then stop taking for about 6-8 weeks and repeat as necessary.
  • 5. *Fo-ti Tieng is made from a mixture of the leaves and stems of a dwarf variety of the herb gotu kola - botanical name Centella asiatica belonging to the plant family Apiaceae, with the root of Indian physic herb - botanical name Gillenia trifoliata, which has emetic and laxative actions, and belongs to the plant family Rosaceae, along with minute quantities of the caffeine bearing cola or kola nuts, and some dried cotyledons of the Cola nitida herb, of the plant family Sterculiaceae, and other similar species.
  • 6. It can be served on the rocks, or in any drink Is not bad in a tea with sugar or honey, in a coke or pepsi, in a smoothy, or even deluted with water and sweetened if you prefer. or in a vanilla milk shake.
