PUFF PASTRY TOASTED SANDWICHES IN YOUR SANDWICH MAKER!
My Zaar friend Kooka suggested making a toasted sandwich without the toast ! I got curious, played around with her idea and et Voila! she told me to post the recipe. Ok, healthy.. not really... yummy... sure is! Puff pastry here in the Netherlands is a pest to use in regular large pies becuase it comes in a box of 10 small individual squares. think jig-saw pieces then you want to make a large pie, and it usually takes me less time to make and roll my own... but my small ready made squares are PERFECT for this recipe.. if you are lucky enough to be able to buy ready made puff pastry in one big piece you will need to cut it up to fit. COMFORT FOOD... the fillings are as endless as peoples' personal taste.. but things that cook quick, yes? I used three Knackworstjes but the Zaar database doesn't recognise those so Smokies (mini knackworstjes) are the closest description I can get. In Honour of Kooka's idea I dedicate this to ZWT REGION: Australia.

Steps:
- Melt the butter and spread on the toasted sandwich maker inside top and bottom cooking plates.
- Cut thawed pastry to the same size that the bread would usually be and place one piece on the bottom of the sandwich maker top with grated cheese and extra fillings of your choice. Top with another piece of pastry.
- Repeat with the other side of the toasted sandwich maker to fill up the other side.
- Close the sandwich maker to seal the pastry together and enclose the filling.
- Cook until pastry is golden brown and cooked (about 10 minutes).
- Trim off any uncooked pastry (I had a little bit but it was only a thin sliver).

PEANUT BUTTER, BANANA STUFFED FRENCH TOAST WITH SANDWICH MAKER
So good--so easy! I bought a $10 sandwich maker from WalMart and it came with a few recipes, one was for a Monte Cristo (which is ham n cheese, dipped in egg and cooked like French toast). So I thought I could try something similar.

Steps:
- Plug in and turn on your sandwich maker.
- If your bread is the "larger" size, cut the bread to fit your sandwich maker.
- Slather 2 pieces of bread with as much peanut butter as you like.
- Lay sliced bananas on the peanut butter to cover sandwich.
- Place the last two slices of bread on top of the bananas (if you really like peanut butter, you may peanut butter them first).
- In a small dish, beat together eggs, milk and cinnamon.
- Spray sandwich maker down with Oil Spray.
- Take each sandwich and turn it in the egg to coat.
- Place in sandwich maker and close until finished.
- On a plate place the sandwiches. I like to top with some strawberries n sugar (like shortcake strawberries) and a little maple syrup.

TUNA PUFF SANDWICHES
I'm not a huge canned tuna fan, but this is pretty tasty. Next time I'll add some jalapenos. Recipe courtesy of Taste of Home Contest Winning Annual Recipes 2010 and Stella Dobmeier of Kamloops, British Columbia.

SANDWICH MAKER PIES
This recipe is so simple yet so yummy. Great for when you are craving a dessert fix but don't have a lot of time. I make them using my Hello Kitty sandwich maker. My dad and I get a real kick out of it! I can't wait to try these with different fillings, maybe even..mmmm CHOCOLATE! I wonder if this would work using meat pie filling???Can easily be doubled.

LINA'S CHILI DOGS - SANDWICH MAKER
I decided to dust off my old sandwich cooker. It's something most of us have but just sits. I came up with this and it was a hit with my family. This obviously isn't a "fancy" recipe. But it's a nice quick lunch/dinner or an after school snack! Now, I'm not sure how well they heat up. I made a bunch and froze some. I'll up-date with that information at a later date. The can of chili is NO beans. You might have leftover chili based on the amount of sandwiches you make. All of the amounts are just based on how many people you'll be serving.
