SUPER SANDWICH
This big, meaty, super sandwich is one I've made many times when I knew I'd be feeding a hungry bunch. Everyone remarks on the tasty olive salad tucked between slices of meat and cheese. Since it can be made ahead, you're free to visit with family and friends. -Patrice Barker, Tampa, Florida

- In a large bowl, combine cucumber, tomato, onion, olives and salad dressing; set aside., Cut 1 in. off the top of the bread; set aside. Carefully hollow out top and bottom of loaf, leaving a 1/2-in. shell. (Discard removed bread or save for another use.), Layer a fourth of the ham, salami, pork and cheeses inside the shell. Top with third of the vegetable mixture. Repeat layers, ending with meat and cheeses, gently pressing down to flatten as needed., Replace bread top; wrap tightly in plastic. Refrigerate until serving.

- Preheat a waffle iron according to manufacturer's instructions.
- Place about 1/2 of the potato nuggets on the preheated waffle iron, close the waffle iron, and cook until nuggets are golden brown and pressed to resemble a slice of bread, 3 to 5 minutes. Repeat with remaining potato nuggets.
- Place 1 slice of potato nugget "bread" on a plate; top with ham and turkey. Set tomato atop sliced meats and top tomato with potato chips. Place bacon over chips, Swiss cheese over bacon, and pickles over cheese. Top with remaining slice of potato nugget "bread".

- In a medium bowl, combine olive oil, lemon juice, vinegar and garlic. Season with parsley, oregano and pepper. stir in olives and mushrooms. Set aside.
- Cut the off top half of the bread. Scoop out the inside, and leave a 1/2 inch outside wall. Spoon 2/3 of the olive mixture into the bottom. I make sandwiches every year for my children's birthday parties and they are always extremely popular. A friend recently asked me for the recipe but didn't make them so well. I figured out that the order had to be precise for the sandwiches to be as tasty as possible. So here is my method for making the perfect sandwich.

Steps:
- Generously butter the bread slices and arrange on your bench so that each sandwich has one slice white and one slice brown bread.
- Spread the mayonnaise on the white buttered bread making sure to get right to the edges of the slice so that the ends don't get dry.
- Place a slice of cheese over the mayonnaise.
- Spread ketchup thinly over the brown slice, again making sure you go to the edges and then cover with a slice of ham.
- Place the two pieces together, then press gently down on a cutting board and slice diagonally twice so that you have 4 triangular pieces.
- Continue with the other slices until you have 32 pieces which you arrange points facing up on a platter.
- Cover with cling film and chill for 2-3 hours before needed.
- Decorate the platter with chips scattered over if you like.
