Steps:
- In a large bowl, combine 2 cups flour, sugar, yeast and salt. Heat the water and butter in a microwave safe glass. Whisk together the buttermilk and eggs in a small bowl. Gradually whisk in the hot water/butter. Add to dry ingredients; beat just until moistened. Stir in enough remaining flour to form a soft dough.
- Turn onto a floured surface; knead until smooth and elastic, about 6-8 minutes. Cover and let rest for 10 minutes.
- When your dough is ready, split it in two balls and lay it on a floured surface. Roll each half out into a large circle. Use a pizza cutter to make triangles.
- Roll them up and put them on a baking sheet. Let rise in a draft free place for about 25 minutes.
- Preheat the oven to 350°F.
- Bake at 10 to 15 minutes. Use your butter to rub across the top of each roll for an extra buttery taste!

- In a large bowl, dissolve yeast and 1 teaspoon sugar in warm water. Add butter, milk, egg, salt, remaining sugar and 2 cups flour. Beat until smooth. Stir in enough remaining flour to form a soft dough., Turn onto a floured surface; knead until smooth and elastic, about 6-8 minutes. Place in a greased bowl, turning once to grease the top. Cover and let rise in a warm place until doubled, about 1 hour., Punch dough down. Turn onto a lightly floured surface; divide in half. Roll each portion into a 12-in. circle; cut each circle into 12 wedges. Roll up wedges from the wide end and place point side down 2 in. apart on greased baking sheets. Curve ends to form crescents. Cover and let rise in a warm place until doubled, about 30 minutes. , Preheat oven to 350°. Bake until golden brown, 10-12 minutes. Remove from pans to wire racks.

- You want the mixture to be warm enough for the yeast to bloom and not kill it. I end up usually heating it about 1 minute and 30 seconds, but I also add warm water when adding my ingredients.
- Once it is heated, add it to a stand mixer and oiur your yeast in. Let it sit while you gather your other ingredients.

- In the bowl of a stand mixer fitted with the dough hook, stir together warm water, yeast, and sugar. Let stand until creamy, about 5 minutes.
- To the yeast mixture, add the butter, salt, and 2 cups of the flour. Mix on low-speed until the ingredients begin to come together. Still on low-speed, add 1 cup of the remaining flour and mix for 1 minute. Add the remaining 1 cup flour. Mix on low-speed until the final addition of flour is fully incorporated into the dough. Increase the speed to medium and knead until the dough is smooth and elastic, about 5 minutes. (Resist the urge to add additional flour unless the dough still refuses to come together after a couple minutes of kneading. The dough will still be slightly sticky, but you will know it is ready when it starts to make a slapping sound as it hits the sides of the bowl.) Remove the bowl from the mixer and cover it with a dish towel. Let the dough rise in a warm place until doubled in volume, about 20 minutes.
- Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface and form it into an even ball. Using a serrated knife, cut the dough into quarters. Roll each ball of dough into a rough circle about 15 inches in diameter (no need to be too precise). Using a pizza cutter or knife, slice the circle into 8 even triangles. Starting at the widest end, gently roll each triangle up into a crescent shape. Place 1-inch apart on two lightly greased baking sheets.
- Set the baking sheets aside and let the rolls rise while your oven is preheating to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C) – about 20 minutes.
