Cream Cheese Pinwheels are easy to make and are perfect for that football tailgate or holiday party.

6 large flour tortillas
16 ounces cream cheese, softened
1 packet dry ranch salad dressing
1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
1/3 cup black olives, chopped
2 tablespoons pimentos, chopped
3 green onions, chopped

Steps:

  • Mix all of the ingredients (except tortillas) together in a large bowl.
  • Spread the mixture thinly and evenly over each tortilla.
  • Roll up each tortilla tightly and wrap in plastic wrap.
  • Chill in the refrigerator for several hours or overnight.
  • Cut the tortillas about an inch thick and place them on a serving tray.

Almond Pinwheels with Cream Cheese Filling image

Number Of Ingredients 10

½ recipe Danish Dough
Cream Cheese Filling (recipe follows)
1 large egg, lightly beaten
½ cup (57 grams) sliced almonds
¼ cup (30 grams) confectioners' sugar
1 (8-ounce package) cream cheese, softened
1 cup (120 grams) confectioners' sugar
1 large egg yolk
1 teaspoon vanilla bean paste
½ teaspoon (1.5 grams) kosher salt

Steps:

  • Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • On a lightly floured surface, roll dough into a 16x12-inch rectangle. Using a pizza wheel or a sharp knife, cut dough into 12 (4-inch) squares. Make a cut into the square from each corner, leaving ½ inch at the center. (You should have 4 triangles.) Fold one corner of each triangle up to the center of the square to make the pinwheel. Place pinwheels on prepared pan. Cover loosely with plastic wrap, and let stand for 30 minutes.
  • Preheat oven to 375°F.
  • Spoon 1½ teaspoons Cream Cheese Filling into center of each pinwheel, and brush with beaten egg.
  • Bake until puffed and golden, 15 to 18 minutes. Top with almonds, and sprinkle with confectioners' sugar.
  • In the bowl of a stand mixer fitted with the paddle attachment, beat cream cheese, confectioners' sugar, egg yolk, vanilla bean paste, and salt at medium speed until smooth and creamy, 4 to 5 minutes.

3 ounces cream cheese, softened
2 tablespoons finely chopped onion
1 teaspoon 2% milk
1 tube (8 ounces) refrigerated crescent rolls
5 bacon strips, cooked and finely chopped

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 375°. In a small bowl, mix cream cheese, onion and milk until blended. On a lightly floured surface, unroll crescent dough into one long rectangle; press perforations to seal., Spread with cream cheese mixture; sprinkle with bacon. Roll up jelly-roll style, starting with a long side; pinch seam to seal. Using a serrated knife, cut roll crosswise into twenty-four (1/2-inch) slices. Place on ungreased baking sheets, cut side down., Bake 12-15 minutes or until golden brown. Refrigerate leftovers.

These are super easy to make for a dinner party or as a dinner appetizer. I always make them for the Christmas holiday season and use spinach tortilla rollups.

4 soft flour tortillas (for Christmas I use the green spinach ones)
2 (8 ounce) packages cream cheese, softened
1 cup dried cranberries (I use Craisins)
2 bunches diced green onions
1 teaspoon garlic salt

Steps:

  • Mix cream cheese and garlic salt together until well blended. Spread evenly on tops of tortillas.
  • In small bowl, stir together cranberries and onions. Sprinkle evenly over cream cheese spread. Lightly press cranberry/onion mix into cream cheese.
  • Roll up tortilla. Trim off ends. And cut each tortilla into 10 even pieces using a serated knife, like you would slice bread.
