- Preheat the over to 400 degrees fahrenheit. Combine powder, soda, salt, sugar, cornmeal and flour in a large bowl. Combine buttermilk and eggs in a bowl. Place your iron skillet in the oven and put the 2 tablespoons butter into the skillet to melt. (You can substitute a 8x8 pyrex but it's not the same) Pour the buttermilk and egg mixture into the flour mixture and mix until just combined. Then add the melted butter. The batter should be lumpy and just a bit on the dry side. Pour this mixture into the hot iron skillet then bake for 20 minutes or until a knife inserted into it comes out just shy of clean. The primary difference in this recipe is the addition of the sugar. It makes a a sweeter recipe. I also increase the cornmeal and decrease the flour because I like my cornbread to be a bit "cornier."

- Preheat oven to 400 degrees F. Arrange bacon in a Reynolds® Bakeware Bacon Pan.
- Bake for 8 minutes, until almost crisp. Drizzle the bacon with 1 tablespoon maple syrup and bake 4 to 6 minutes more or until glazed. Cook longer for crispier bacon. Cool and chop.
- Stir together the cornmeal, flour, baking powder, and salt in a medium bowl. In a small bowl, whisk together milk, eggs, butter and remaining 4 tablespoons maple syrup. Add the milk mixture all at once to the cornmeal mixture. Add the chopped bacon. Stir just until moistened. Pour the batter into an 8x8-inch Reynolds® Bakeware Pan.
- Bake 20 to 25 minutes or until edges are golden brown. Let cool slightly before serving.
- Drizzle with additional maple syrup, if desired.

- Preheat oven to 450. Lightly oil a 9-inch cast-iron skillet and put it in the oven to heat.
- In a large bowl, sift together the cornmeal, salt and baking powder. In another bowl, whisk together the buttermilk and eggs. Pour the wet ingredients over the dry ingredients, add the melted butter and stir together until just mixed.
- Remove the hot cast-iron skillet from the oven and pour the batter into it, then give the pan a smack on the countertop to even it out. Return pan to oven and bake, approximately 30 to 40 minutes, until the corn bread is browned on top and a toothpick or a thin knife inserted into the top comes out clean.

RORY'S MOST WONDERFUL CORN BREAD
This is a very sweet, delicious, cake - like cornbread that incorporates broccoli and cottage cheese to produce a heavenly tasting cornbread. I have tried this recipe on a number of anti-broccoli children and adults and they all end up begging me to make more.

- Preheat oven to 350 degrees (175 degrees C). Grease one 8x8 inch square baking pan.
- Combine the eggs, cornbread mix, cottage cheese, broccoli, chopped onion, and melted butter or margarine and mix well. Pour batter into the prepared pan.

RAZORBACK CORN BREAD
Arkansas is called "razorback country", so this recipe seemed appropriate to represent our area! This dish is almost a meal in itself, but I serve it with mashed potatoes, fresh peas or butterbeans and cabbage slaw. I recently took it to our Senior Citizens Club and received lots of compliments and requests for the recipe.

- In a deep 10-in. cast-iron skillet, fry sausage until done. Reserve 2-3 tablespoons drippings. Crumble sausage. Combine cornmeal, flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt. In separate bowl, combine eggs, chilies, onion, corn, buttermilk and cheese. Add egg mixture to cornmeal mixture. Stir in sausage and reserved drippings. Pour into the greased skillet and bake at 450° for 20-25 minutes or until done. Serve warm from skillet.

- In a large bowl, combine the first six ingredients; set aside. In a saucepan, heat the sour cream, oil and onions to 120°-130°. Add to cornmeal mixture; beat until blended. Beat in eggs, cheese, corn and jalapenos. Stir in enough flour to form a stiff dough. , Turn onto a floured surface; knead until smooth and elastic, 6-8 minutes. - Heat oven to 400°F. Generously grease bottom and side of 10-inch cast-iron skillet with shortening or spray with cooking spray. Heat greased skillet in oven about 5 minutes or until hot.
- Meanwhile, in large bowl, beat milk, butter and egg with egg beater or wire whisk. Stir in remaining ingredients all at once just until flour is moistened (batter will be lumpy). Carefully remove skillet from oven. Pour batter into skillet.
