Ingredients

½ cup instant tea powder
1 cup sweetened lemonade powder
1 cup orange-flavored drink mix (e.g. Tang)
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
½ teaspoon ground cloves

Steps:

In a large bowl, combine instant tea, lemonade powder, orange drink mix, cinnamon and clove. Mix well and store in an airtight container.
To serve, Put 2 to 3 teaspoons of mix in a mug. Stir in 1 cup of boiling water. Adjust to taste.

1 jar (21.1 ounces) orange breakfast drink mix
1 cup sugar
1/2 cup sweetened lemonade drink mix
1/2 cup unsweetened instant tea
1 package (3 ounces) apricot gelatin
2-1/2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
1 teaspoon ground cloves
ADDITIONAL INGREDIENTS:
1 cup boiling water

Steps:

In a large bowl, combine the first seven ingredients. Store in an airtight container in a cool, dry place for up to 6 months. Yield: 50 batches (about 5 cups total)., To prepare 1 cup of tea: Dissolve 4-1/2 teaspoons tea mix in boiling water; stir well.

RUSSIAN FRIENDSHIP TEA MIX

This is a delicious orangey tea that just smells wonderful! I portion out some of the mix in little holiday ziploc baggies to give as gifts at the holidays. I am always surprised how many people have never had this tea. I have used this recipe for 8 years and have had many positive comments. A nice way to present this tea is to fill a zip-plastic baggie with some of the tea mix and place in a gift mug. This is an instant version of the real Russian tea, which is more like a hot fruity tea punch. Imagine a warm, sweet spiced apple cider, only with a citrusy/orange taste instead. This will not taste like a brewed black tea. The lemonade mix called for is one tiny packet, enough to make a 2 quart size pitcher (although you only use the mix dry). If you are subbing in sugar-free versions of any ingredients (which do work just fine) be aware that they will weigh less than anything made with sugar, so measuring by volume (such as US type cups and spoons) is key here if you are converting the recipe.

1 -1 1/2 cup sugar (or less, to taste)
2 cups instant Tang orange drink
1/2 cup sweetened iced tea mix powder
1 (1/4 ounce) envelope unsweetened lemonade mix
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1 teaspoon ground allspice
1/2 teaspoon ground cloves

Steps:

Combine all ingredients well and store in an airtight container.
To use, fill a mug with boiling water and stir in 2-3 teaspoons of mix, to taste.
If all you can find is presweetened lemonade, then use the amount of dry mix needed for a 2 quart pitcher according to the package instructions and leave out the sugar.

- soup mix:
1/2 - cup dry split peas
1/3 - cup beef bouillon granules
1/4 - cup pearl barley
1/3 - cup dry lentils
1/4 - cup dried minced onions
2 - teaspoons italian seasoning
1/2 - cup uncooked long grain rice
1/2 - cup alphabet macaroni or other small macaroni
- ********************************
- additional ingredients:
1 - pound of ground beef
3 - quarts of water
1 - 28 ounce can of diced tomatoes

Steps:

Preparation Instructions: In a 1 1/2 pint jar, layer the first eight ingredients in the order listed. Seal tightly. Yield 1 batch. To prepare soup, carefully remove macaroni from the top of the jar and set aside. In a large saucepan, or Dutch oven, brown beef; drain. Add the water tomatoes and soup mix. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat, cover and simmer for 45 minutes. Add the reserved macaroni, cover and simmer for 15 to 20 minutes or until the macaroni, peas, lentils, and barley are tender. Yields 4 quarts.

2 cups Tang orange crystals (dry, or similar)
2 3/4 cups sugar
2 (1 3/8 ounce) packages lemonade, mixes (such as Kool-Aid)
2 teaspoons ground cloves
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1 teaspoon nutmeg

Steps:

Mix all dry ingredients well.
Place in an airtight container for storage.
When ready to serve, place 1 or 2 teaspoons in cup and add boiling water.

Great tea for a cold winter night. Nice smelling. Very good for giving as gifts. I give it to family every year. I'm not 100% sure in prep time but its not long. Also I used a food processor and it mixed it very well. When serving you may need to add water if you don't like strong drinks.
