SAND CASTLE BROWNIE MIX
This is a great mix to give as gifts for the Holidays. Ingredients are layered in a quart-size canning jar which can be decorated.

- In a 1 Qt glass canning jar, layer the first seven ingredients in the order listed, packing well between each layer.
- Cover and store in a cool dry place for up to six months.
- TO BAKE BROWNIES: In a bowl, combine eggs, oil, vanilla, and brownie mix; mix well.
- Spread into a greased 8 inch square pan.
- Bake@ 350 degrees F for 30 minutes.

In a one -guart,wide -mouth jar,layer the first 6 ingrediets in order listed, packing each layer down well.After adding the cocoa, use a paper towel to wipe the inside of the jar to remove any cocoa from the sides;add flour. cover filled jar with the lid and tie on a gift card with the instructions.
- 2. Instructions; Cream together 2 eggs ,2/3 cup oil,1 teaspoon vanilla extract and 1 teaspoon almond extract.Stir in brownie mix and beat until well blended .Spread batter into a oiled 8=8 baking pan .Bake at 350 degrees for 30 to 40 minutes,or until the center tests done. cool on wire rack makes 1 1/2 dozen

- Mix the 5/8 cup of flour with salt. In a clean, wide mouth 1 quart or 1 liter jar, layer the ingredients in the order given. Starting with the flour and salt mixture, and ending with the walnuts.
- Attach a decorative tag to the out side of the jar with the following directions: Sand Art Brownies: 1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease one 9x9 inch square baking pan. 2. Pour the contents of the jar into a large bowl, and mix well. 3. Stir in 1 teaspoon vanilla, 2/3 cup vegetable oil, and 3 eggs. Beat until just combined. 4. Pour the batter into the prepared pan, and bake in the preheated oven for 25 to 30 minutes.

- Layer in each Layered ingreidnet in each of 12 quart jars in the order given, leveling the ingredients as you layer: Make sure the jar is full to the top.
- Cover the lid with a 7 1/2-inch circle of fabric tied with ribbon or raffia.
- Finish with a tag that includes liquid ingredients and baking instructions as follows: To Prepare Brownies---------.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the contents of the quart jar with 3 well-beaten eggs, 2/3 cup vegetable oil, and 1 teaspoon vanilla extract.
- Stir well to combine all ingredients.
- Pour Batter into a well-greased 9x13-inch cake pan and bake in a pre-heated 350°F oven for 30 to 35 minutes.

- Wash and dry jars and lids in the dishwasher.
- Mix together flour, baking powder, and salt in a quart jar, pack firmly and brush residue off the insides of the jar with a pastry brush.
- Add cocoa, pack firmly and brush sides.
- Add sugar, pack and brush.
- Add chocolate chips and seal.
- Attach the following recipe:.
- 1 jar brownie mix.
- 1 cup butter melted.
- 3 eggs.
- 1 teaspoon vanilla.

- Pour sugar into a clean and dry one quart jar. Press down firmly.
- Add cocoa powder and press down firmly. Pour in chopped pecans, making sure pecans are evenly layered in the jar. Combine flour, baking powder and salt. Pour into jar and seal.
- Attach the following directions to the jar: Empty mix into large bowl. Use your hands to mix thoroughly. Add 3/4 cup of butter or margarine and 4 slightly beaten eggs. Mix until completely blended. Spread batter into a lightly greased or sprayed 9 x 13 inch pan. Bake at 350 degrees F (180 degrees C) for 30 minutes or until done. Cool in pan. Cut into 2 inch squares.
