Assemble Trisha Yearwood's Breakfast Sausage Casserole recipe from Trisha's Southern Kitchen on Food Network; let it sit overnight, then bake it in the morning.

Butter, for greasing
1/2 loaf of sliced white loaf bread
1 pound fresh bulk pork sausage with sage
10 ounces sharp Cheddar, grated
2 cups half-and-half
1 teaspoon dry mustard
1 teaspoon salt
5 large eggs, lightly beaten

Steps:

  • Cut the bread into 1-inch cubes and spread in the bottom of a greased 9- by 13- by 2- inch casserole dish.
  • In a medium skillet, brown the sausage over medium heat until fully cooked and no longer pink. Remove the sausage with a slotted spoon to drain the fat. Spread the cooked sausage over the bread and top with the cheese. Then stir together the, half-and-half, dry mustard, salt and eggs. Pour this mixture over the cheese. Cover the casserole with aluminum foil and refrigerate for 8 hours or overnight.
  • The next day, preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.
  • Bake the covered casserole until set and slightly golden, about 50 minutes. Remove from the oven and allow the casserole to set for 15 minutes before serving.

1 pound cooked ham, chopped
¾ cup sliced green onions
¾ cup chopped green bell peppers
3 cups shredded Cheddar cheese, divided
10 (7 inch) flour tortillas
5 eggs, beaten
2 cups half-and-half cream
½ cup milk
1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
¼ teaspoon garlic powder
1 dash hot pepper sauce

Steps:

  • Place ham in food processor, and pulse until finely ground. Mix together ham, green onions, and green peppers. Spoon 1/3 cup of the ham mixture and 3 tablespoons shredded cheese onto each tortilla, then roll up. Carefully place filled tortillas, seam side down, in a greased 9x13 baking dish.
  • In a medium bowl, mix together eggs, cream, and milk, flour, garlic powder, and hot pepper sauce. Pour egg mixture over tortillas. Cover, and refrigerate overnight.
  • The next morning, preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
  • Bake, uncovered, in preheated oven for 50 to 60 minutes, or until set. Sprinkle casserole with remaining 1 cup shredded cheese. Bake about 3 minutes more, or until cheese melts. Let stand a least 10 minutes before serving.

Steps:

3 cups milk
1 ½ cups shredded Cheddar cheese

1 pound bulk Italian sausage
1 tablespoon butter
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 medium onion, finely chopped

1-1/2 teaspoons dried oregano

1/2 teaspoon pepper
1 small zucchini, halved lengthwise and sliced
1 cup chopped fresh mushrooms
6 garlic cloves, minced
1 can (15 ounces) tomato sauce
1 jar (14 ounces) pasta sauce with meat
2 cups shredded part-skim mozzarella cheese

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350°. Cook pasta according to package directions for al dente; drain and transfer to greased 13x9-in. baking dish. Meanwhile, in a large skillet, cook sausage over medium heat until no longer pink, 6-8 minutes, breaking into crumbles; drain and remove from pan., In same skillet, heat butter and oil over medium-high heat. 4 tablespoons butter
1 onion, diced
1 cup uncooked long-grain white rice
2 cups chicken broth
2 tablespoons butter
2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
1 cup half-and-half cream

1 (4 ounce) can diced green chilies, drained
1 cup diced sharp Cheddar cheese
½ cup diced Monterey Jack cheese
1 pinch paprika, for garnish

Steps:

  • Place eggs in a large saucepan and cover with cold water. Bring water to a boil; cover, remove from heat, and let eggs stand in hot water for 10 to 12 minutes. Remove from hot water, cool, peel and slice.
  • In large saucepan, melt butter over medium heat. Stir in onions and rice; cook, stirring occasionally, until onions are limp. Pour in 2 cups chicken broth, cover and cook until rice is done, about 20 minutes.
  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Lightly grease a 9x13 inch casserole dish.
  • In another saucepan, melt remaining 2 tablespoons butter. Whisk in flour. Slowly stir in cream and remaining 2 tablespoons chicken broth; stir constantly until thickened. Remove from heat and season with salt and pepper to taste.
  • Spread half of the cooked rice in bottom of the prepared pan. Top with half of the egg slices, half of the diced green chilies and half of each of the cheeses. Spoon half of the chicken gravy the eggs. Repeat with remaining ingredients.
  • Bake uncovered in preheated oven until bubbly and golden. Sprinkle with paprika if desired.

2 cups half-and-half cream or 2 cups milk
6 eggs, beaten
1/4 teaspoon salt

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350ºF.
  • Spread each tortilla with 2-3 tablespoons of the soft cheese to within 1/2 inch of edges. Combine ham and onions, place about 1/3 cup down the center of each tortilla and add about 2-3 tablespoons cooked hash browns.
  • Roll up and place seam side down in greased 9x13-inch pan.
  • In a bowl, combine flour, cream, eggs and salt until smooth. Pour over tortillas. Cover and refrigerate overnight.
