- Preheat oven to 375 degrees F. Lay bread slices flat on a baking sheet, cut sides up. In a small bowl, combine butter and garlic. Spread over bread. In another bowl, combine mayonnaise and cheese. Spread over bread.Bake for 12-15 minutes, until cheese gets lightly browned.Cut into serving pieces.
CHEESY FRENCH BREAD
This is a little different from the usual Garlic French breads I've tried. I served this to my daughter for her 28th birthday dinner tonight. I changed the original recipe up some to fit our taste buds. Original recipe from Paula Deen's The Lady & Sons, Too cookbook.

- Preheat an outdoor grill for medium heat and lightly oil the grate.
- Combine butter, tomatoes, pesto, garlic, salt, and black pepper in a food processor. Pulse until thoroughly combined and tomatoes are chopped. Scrape into a bowl and stir in 1 cup shredded provolone cheese.
- Grill bread on the preheated grill until toasted, about 1 1/2 minutes. Spread butter mixture equally onto cut sides of both halves of bread and sprinkle with remaining cheese. Grill bread, cut-side up, over indirect heat with grill covered, until toping melts, 8 to 10 minutes. Let cool slightly; cut into slices using a serrated knife. Serve warm.

This is very easy, cheesy, full of flavor and a great make ahead bread loaf for a dinner party, BBQ or just family. - Filling -- In a small bowl, mix the butter, cheeses, scallions, garlic, parsley, and salt. Mix well.
- Bread -- Cut slices approximately 1" apart across the bread. Don't cut all the way through and spread the butter filling in each one of the slices (on both sides of the bread). Wrap in heavy duty foil.
- Bake or Grill -- Wrapped in the foil, bake in the oven at 400 degrees or on the grill (not on direct heat) for 5 minutes top side down first. then flip and continue to cook another 5 minutes. Now, open up foil from the top and cook another 5 minutes to finish melting the cheese and lightly toast the top of the bread. Note, cooking in the oven can take a few more minutes and grilling times can really differ depending on your grill.
