Imagine the best French toast you've ever had, combined with the best ham and cheese sandwich you've ever had, topped with perfectly poached eggs. You don't need any Hollandaise because the poached egg yolks are the sauce.

¼ cup heavy whipping cream
1 tablespoon white sugar
1 pinch salt
1 pinch cayenne pepper
¼ teaspoon ground cinnamon
⅛ teaspoon ground allspice
4 thick slices day-old French bread
1 tablespoon butter
8 thin slices cooked ham
4 slices Cheddar cheese
4 slices Havarti cheese
8 poached eggs
2 teaspoons chopped fresh chives, or to taste
1 pinch kosher salt, or to taste
1 pinch cayenne pepper, or to taste

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).
  • Whisk 2 eggs, cream, white sugar, salt, 1 pinch cayenne pepper, cinnamon, and allspice together in a bowl until batter is thoroughly combined.
  • Lay bread slices into batter, one at a time, and let bread absorb the mixture. Turn bread slices in batter until almost all batter has been absorbed, about 10 minutes.
  • Heat a large skillet over medium heat, and melt butter in the hot skillet. Cook bread slices in the hot butter until browned, 2 to 3 minutes per side. Transfer French toast slices to a baking sheet.
  • Lay ham slices into the hot skillet and cook until meat begins to brown, about 1 minute per side.
  • To assemble, place a Cheddar cheese slice on a slice of French toast, top with 2 slices of ham, and lay a Havarti cheese slice over ham.
  • Bake in the preheated oven until French toast pieces are no longer wet, the batter is set, and cheese has melted and begun to brown, about 20 minutes.
  • Place sandwiches on serving plates and top each with 2 poached eggs. Season with kosher salt and a pinch of cayenne pepper.

2 tablespoons garlic butter
3 slices Texas toast or other thick-sliced bread
1 (1-ounce) slice Swiss cheese
3 ounces thinly sliced ham
1 (1-ounce) slice Cheddar
3 ounces thinly sliced cooked chicken or turkey
3 eggs
1/4 cup water
1 1/2 cups panko bread crumbs
Oil, for deep-frying
Powdered sugar
3 ounces raspberry sauce (made by mixing together 1/3 cup raspberry preserves with 2 tablespoons cranberry juice)

Steps:

  • Spread garlic butter on 1 side of each bread slice. Place cheese on 1 piece of bread, place ham on top of cheese. Cover with another slice of bread, followed by the slice of Cheddar and the chicken breast. Place the third piece of bead on top, making sure the meats and cheese are completely tucked inside of the bread. Place on a cutting board. Slice sandwich diagonally and hold together with long wooden picks. Refrigerate for about 30 minutes.
  • Preheat deep-fryer to 350 degrees F.
  • Beat eggs and water in a medium shallow bowl. Place the panko bread crumbs in another shallow bowl.
  • Remove the sandwich from the refrigerator. Dip into egg wash, let drain, and then coat the sandwich completely in the panko bread crumbs. Fry in hot oil until golden brown (about 45 seconds). Remove from oil, drain on paper towels. Sprinkle with powdered sugar and serve immediately with raspberry sauce.

1 cup nonfat milk
6 eggs or 1 1/2 cups egg substitute
2 (12 1/2 ounce) packages frozen French toast, slices,thawed
8 ounces deli ham, diced
8 ounces deli turkey, diced
4 ounces swiss cheese, grated
1/4 cup fresh parsley, snipped
1 tablespoon powdered sugar
2 cups fresh strawberries, sliced
1/2 cup strawberry ice cream topping

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 375^F.
  • Pour milk in a microwaveable container and heat until hot.
  • Whisk eggs in small bowl and add hot milk to eggs, blend.
  • Cut French toast into 3/4 inch cubes; place in a large bowl.
  • Pour egg mixture over bread cubes, toss gently, set aside.
  • Combine ham, turkey, cheese and parsley in a bowl.
  • Spray a 13x9x2 inch baking pan with cooking spray.
  • Layer half the french toast cubes with half the meat mixture in bottom of pan.
  • Repeat.
  • Let stand for at least 10 minutes (It can be held overnight.) Set at room temperature for a few minutes before baking-or bake a little longer if it's cold.
  • Bake 30-35 minutes until golden brown and set in center.
  • Cool 10 minutes.
  • Sprinkle with powdered sugar.
  • Slice strawberries.
  • Combine strawberries with strawberry ice cream topping in a small bowl.
  • Cut casserole into squares.
  • Serve topped with strawberry mixture.

vegetable oil (for deep frying)

Steps:

  • Place turkey and Swiss cheese on one slice of bread and ham and American cheese on another slice of bread.
  • Place third slice.

  • Place egg in mixing bowl, add water and beat together.
