Chocolate Fruit Basket Cake image

Basic ingredients jazz up this easy cake, one that's sure to bring "oohs" and "aahs!" -Taste of Home Test Kitchen

1 package chocolate cake mix (regular size)
1 can (16 ounces) chocolate frosting
11 Kit Kat candy bars (1-1/2 ounces each)
2 pounds fresh strawberries
1 pint fresh blueberries
1 pint fresh raspberries
2 tablespoons apricot preserves, warmed
Fresh mint leaves, optional

Steps:

  • Prepare and bake cake according to package directions, using two greased 9-in. round baking pans. Cool for 10 minutes before removing from pans to wire racks to cool completely., Spread frosting between layers and over top and sides of cake. Separate candy bars; lightly press into sides of cake. Arrange berries on top; brush with preserves. Garnish with mint if desired.

Chocolate baskets is an easy, fancy recipe perfect for decorating desserts. Chocolate is first melted, then piped into a basket. Once set, you can fill it how you like.

empty wine bottle,
baking paper,
tape,
dark chocolate, melted,
white chocolate, melted,
custard,
Strawberries,
Raspberries,
Blueberries,
Mint,

Steps:

  • Place a strip of baking paper around an empty wine bottle and secure it with tape. Melt dark chocolate and white chocolate.
  • Use the dark chocolate to make a swirl pattern on top of another piece of baking paper.
  • Then fill in the gaps with white chocolate.
  • Go on decorating quickly.
  • Before the chocolate has set entirely, place it around the glass bottle and secure it with tape.
  • Put in the refrigerator for 10 minutes. Carefully remove the baking paper.
  • Fill the chocolate basket with the custard.
  • Add the fruits.Serve and enjoy!

200g milk chocolate , broken into pieces
85g shredded wheat , crushed
2 x 100g bags mini chocolate eggs
cupcake cases

Steps:

  • Melt the chocolate in a small bowl placed over a pan of barely simmering water. Pour the chocolate over the shredded wheat and stir well to combine.
  • Spoon the chocolate wheat into 12 cupcake cases and press the back of a teaspoon in the centre to create a nest shape. Place 3 mini chocolate eggs on top of each nest. Chill the nests in the fridge for 2 hrs until set.
