This crab imperial is jumbo lump crab meat coated in a creamy sauce, then baked to perfection. An easy and unique recipe made in under 30 minutes!

1 lb crab meat (jumbo lump crab)
1/2 cup mayo
1/2 tsp old bay seasoning
1/2 tsp salt-free lemon pepper seasoning
1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
1 egg
1 tbsp parsley (fresh)
1 tsp lemon juice
1 tsp hot sauce
1 tsp dijon mustard

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
  • In a large bowl, combine the mayo, mustard, old bay seasoning, egg, parsley, Worcestershire sauce, hot sauce, lemon juice, and salt-free lemon pepper seasoning.
  • Add the crab meat to the mayo mixture and fold gently. Place the crab mixture into a casserole dish and bake for 20 minutes. Broil for 1 minute.
  • Garnish with fresh parsley and serve with fresh lemon, if desired. Enjoy!

1/4 large green pepper, diced
1 tablespoon butter
1 pound Chesapeake Bay crabmeat
Salt and pepper
1 tablespoon mustard
4 tablespoons mayonnaise
Dash Worcestershire sauce
1/2 cup bread crumbs
Crab boil seasoning

Steps:

  • Saute green pepper in butter until translucent, but not brown.
  • Add to crabmeat, salt and pepper. Stir in mustard, mayonnaise and Worcestershire sauce. Put in buttered casserole. Top with bread crumbs, a few pats of butter, and sprinkle with crab boil seasoning. Bake for 25 minutes in a preheated 375 degree F. oven.

1 lb crabmeat (lump or backfin)
4 tablespoons butter (1/2 stick, unsalted)
2 teaspoons shallots (chopped very fine or minced)
2 tablespoons flour
3/4 cup half-and-half
1/8 teaspoon white pepper
1/8 teaspoon ground mace
2 tablespoons sherry wine
3 tablespoons mayonnaise
2 egg yolks (well beaten)
1/2 teaspoon dry mustard
1/2 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon lemon juice
paprika (sprinkle on top)

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 450 degrees F.
  • Melt butter in a heavy small saucepot over medium heat. Add shallot and stir until very lightly browned, about 5 to 8 minutes.
  • Blend in flour, white pepper and mace and stir 1 to 2 minutes.
  • Add half-and-half, egg yolks, dry mustard, Worcestershire sauce, and sherry and cook until thick and smooth, about 3 to 4 minutes.
  • Remove from heat and stir in mayonnaise, lemon juice and salt, and gently fold crabmeat into sauce, being careful not to break up chunks.
  • Fill either shells, oven-proof shells, ramekins, or small oven-proof bowls.
  • Sprinkle tops with paprika.
  • Place onto a cookie sheet and bake until mixture is bubbling, about 12 to 15 minutes, and serve immediately.

2 Tbsp mayonnaise
1 Tbsp heavy cream
1 egg, beaten
juice of 1/2 lemon
1/2 tsp Old Bay seafood seasoning
1/3 cup Cheddar cheese, shredded
fresh parsley, for garnish

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Combine cream cheese, mayonnaise, heavy cream, and egg. Carefully mix until combined (I used my mini-food processor). Add the crab meat, lemon, Old Bay, and salt. Toss gently to combine. Spoon mixture into 4 individual ramekins or another small baking dish, and place on baking sheet. Top with a bit of the cheddar cheese. Bake for about 20 minutes, until everything is starting to brown and bubble. Garnish with parsley and serve with lemon wedges on the side.

2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
2 cups milk
1 pound cooked crabmeat
2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
½ green bell pepper, minced
1 egg, beaten
salt and ground black pepper to taste
cayenne pepper to taste
2 slices white bread, crumbled into fine breadcrumbs
1 tablespoon melted butter

Steps:

  • Preheat an oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Butter a 9x9-inch baking dish.
  • Melt the margarine in a large saucepan over medium heat. Stir in the flour, and cook a few minutes until the bubbles begin to subside. Whisk in the milk, and cook over medium-high heat until thickened. Stir in the crabmeat, Worcestershire sauce, green pepper, and beaten egg. Season to taste with salt, black pepper, and cayenne pepper. Cook, stirring constantly until quite thick. Spoon into the prepared baking dish.
  • Place the breadcrumbs into a mixing bowl, and drizzle with the melted butter. Toss together until the breadcrumbs are evenly moistened with butter. Sprinkle the breadcrumbs evenly over the crab mixture.
  • Bake in the preheated oven until the casserole has firmed and the bread crumbs are golden brown, 10 to 15 minutes.

1 tsp parsley
1 tsp fresh lemon juice
1 egg
1 tsp Old Bay

3 oz mayonnaise
1 oz half n half
1/2 tsp Old Bay
1/2 tsp fresh lemon juice

Steps:

  • Combine all ingredients for Crab Imperial except crab meat and whip until smooth. Put crab meat into a separate mixing bowl and pour crab imperial sauce over crab meat. Gently blend all ingredients avoiding breaking lump crab meat apart. Place 4 oz into each ramekin and bake at 400 for 15 minutes. In a medium mixing bowl, combine all ingredients for imperial sauce aand whip until smooth. Top each ramekin with imperial sauce and a pinch of paprika. Place under broiler until golden brown.
