This recipe goes together quickly and does not need a lot of time in the slow cooker. It's a delicious way to add flavor to ground beef and the children love it! The gravy is delightful served over mashed potatoes.

2 pounds lean ground beef
1 (1 ounce) envelope dry onion soup mix
½ cup Italian seasoned bread crumbs
¼ cup milk
¼ cup all-purpose flour
2 tablespoons vegetable oil
2 (10.75 ounce) cans condensed cream of chicken soup
1 (1 ounce) packet dry au jus mix
¾ cup water

Steps:

  • In a large bowl, mix together the ground beef, onion soup mix, bread crumbs, and milk using your hands. Shape into 8 patties.
  • Heat the oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Dredge the patties in flour just to coat, and quickly brown on both sides in the hot skillet. Place browned patties into the slow cooker stacking alternately like a pyramid. In a medium bowl, mix together the cream of chicken soup, au jus mix, and water. Pour over the meat. Cook on the Low setting for 4 or 5 hours, until ground beef is well done.

Easy Slow Cooker Salisbury Steak is one of our favorite comfort foods. Tender beef patties simmered in rich brown gravy with mushrooms and onions.

6 ounces sliced mushrooms
½ onion (, sliced)
1 ½ cups beef broth ((low sodium))
1 ounce package brown gravy mix ((dry))
2 tablespoons ketchup
1 teaspoon dijon
2 tablespoons fresh parsley
2 tablespoons corn starch
4 tablespoons water
1 ½ pounds lean ground beef
1 egg yolk
¼ cup minced onion
⅓ cup Panko bread crumbs
3 tablespoons milk
1 clove garlic
salt & pepper to taste

Steps:

  • Place mushrooms & onions in the bottom of your slow cooker.
  • Combine beef patty ingredients and form 6 patties. Brown over medium high heat (about 3 minutes per side).
  • Layer beef patties over mushrooms. Combine remaining ingredients except water and cornstarch. Pour over beef and cook on low 5 hours.
  • Once cooked, remove patties and set aside.
  • Turn slow cooker onto high. Combine cold water and cornstarch. Stir into the broth and let cook a few minutes until thickened. Add beef back into the sauce to coat.
  • Serve over mashed potatoes or rice.

Super simple dinner idea for those busy days. Try this Crockpot Salisbury Steak Recipe tonight!

1 lb. Ground Beef
1/2 cup Bread Crumbs (seasoned)
1/2 tsp. Salt
1/2 tsp. Pepper
1 Egg
Small Onion ( diced; about 1 cup (Optional))
14 oz Beef Broth (or half a carton)
4 oz Mushrooms (Sliced & Drained)
2 tablespoons Cornstarch
2 tablespoons Water
1 packet Brown Gravy Mix (or 1 - Jar/Can Brown Gravy)

Steps:

  • Mix First 5 ingredients together and shape into patties about ¾ inches thick.
  • Cook patties in a skillet turning once until brown.
  • Remove from Skillet and place in crockpot or casserole dish.
  • Add onion mushroom and beef broth; heat to boiling.
  • Mix water and cornstarch together to make a paste.
  • Add to boiling mixture with a wire whisk and whisk until gravy begins to thicken.
  • Add a packet of Mushroom or Brown Gravy Mix and water packet calls for to gravy in skillet. Trust me, you will need the extra gravy (or you can add a jar of premade).
  • I then poured the gravy over the meat patties and cooked on low for atleast 3 hours.
  • You could also bake in oven at 350 for about 30 minutes.
  • Serve with Mashed potatoes.
  • Makes 4 servings...depending how hungry you are you?

2 lbs ground beef
⅓ cup Panko breadcrumbs
3 tbsp milk
1 egg, beaten
1½ tbsp dried minced onion
½ tsp garlic powder
8-oz white mushrooms, sliced
1 medium white onion, sliced
1 packet brown gravy mix
1½ cups beef broth
1 tbsp ketchup
1 tbsp Dijon mustard
1½ tbsp tbsp dried parsley, extra for garnish
2 tbsp cornstarch
¼ cup water
2 tbsp vegetable oil
salt and pepper

Steps:

  • In a large bowl mix together ground beef, breadcrumbs, milk, egg, dried onion, garlic powder, salt and pepper. Mix well with hands and form 6 patties. Heat vegetable oil over medium high heat in a large skillet. Brown patties for 2 minutes on each side. Place sliced white onion and mushrooms in bottom of Crock Pot. Add beef patties. Combine beef broth, gravy mix, ketchup and mustard. Pour over patties. Cook on low for 5 hours. Remove patties and set aside. Combine water and cornstarch. Add to Crock Pot and turn temp to high. Cook for a few minutes until thickened. Add beef patties back to mixture. Coat with sauce and serve.
