Growing up, one of my favorite Christmas treats was dipped pretzels.

1 c. Dark Chocolate Chips Or Chopped Chocolate Bar
3 c. Pretzels

Steps:

  • Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Set aside.Place the chocolate in a heat proof bowl. Set the bowl over a pan of simmering water. Stir until the chocolate is completely melted. Allow to cool for 15 minutes. Pour the pretzels into the melted chocolate. Very gently toss the pretzels in the chocolate until they are completely coated. Using a fork, transfer the pretzels individually to the parchment lined baking sheet. Allow to cool at room temperature for 2 hours or in the refrigerator for 30-60 minutes, or until firm. Store in an airtight container.

18 pretzel rods (from a 10-ounce bag)

Steps:

  • Line a rimmed baking sheet with waxed paper; set aside. Break semisweet chocolate into small pieces; place in a microwave-safe dish. Microwave on high in 30-second increments, stirring after each, until chocolate is just melted, about 1 minute. Remove; stir until smooth.
  • One at a time, roll one end of pretzel rods into melted chocolate, and, using a spoon, coat each 3/4 of the way up.
  • Place pretzels on prepared baking sheet. Refrigerate until set, about 15 minutes.

1 can (14 ounces) sweetened condensed milk
1/2 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
1/8 teaspoon fine salt
2 1/2 cups roughly chopped miniature pretzels

Steps:

  • Coat an 8-inch square baking pan with cooking spray and line with parchment paper, leaving a 2-inch overhang on all sides.
  • Place butter, chocolate chips, condensed milk, vanilla, and salt in a medium heatproof bowl set over (not in) a pot of barely simmering water. Stir occasionally until chocolate just melts and mixture is combined and warm but not hot, 8 to 10 minutes. Remove from heat and stir in 2 cups pretzels. Transfer mixture to pan and smooth top; press 1/2 cup pretzels on top. Refrigerate until set, 2 hours (or up to overnight, wrapped). Using parchment, lift fudge from pan and cut into 36 squares.

3 cups chopped toasted almonds
2 packages (14 ounces each) caramels, unwrapped
2 tablespoons water
2 packages (10 ounces each) pretzel rods
2 packages (10 to 12 ounces each) white baking chips
2 packages (10 to 12 ounces each) dark chocolate chips
Assorted sprinkles, optional

Steps:

  • Place almonds in a shallow dish. In a large glass measuring cup, microwave caramels and water on high until caramels are melted, stirring every minute., Dip three-fourths of each pretzel into caramel, allowing excess to drip off. (Reheat caramel in microwave if mixture becomes too thick for dipping.) Roll in almonds. Place on waxed paper until set. , In a microwave, melt white baking chips; stir until smooth. Dip half of the caramel-coated pretzels in white baking chips, allowing excess to drip off. Add sprinkles if desired; return to waxed paper to set.
