My husband loves this zippy pizza sub sandwich. Italian sausage, pepperoni and salami provide the robust flavors in this family-pleasing fare. If you'd like, serve the crispy subs with extra pizza sauce for dipping. -Kathy Bennett, Hattiesburg, Mississippi

6 submarine sandwich buns (about 9 inches), split
1/2 pound bulk Italian sausage, cooked and drained
1 pound shaved deli ham
1 can (8 ounces) pizza sauce
18 slices part-skim mozzarella cheese (1 ounce each)
1 medium onion, halved and thinly sliced
36 mild banana pepper rings
2 packages (3-1/2 ounces each) sliced pepperoni
1/4 pound thinly sliced hard salami

Steps:

  • On bottom half of sandwich buns, layer sausage, ham, pizza sauce, cheese, onion, banana peppers, pepperoni and salami. Replace tops. Wrap each sandwich in heavy-duty foil; place on baking sheets. Bake at 425° for 12-15 minutes or until cheese is melted.

1 loaf unsliced Italian bread (1 lb.)
1/4-1/3 cup pizza sauce
1 1/2 teaspoons italian seasoning
1 medium green bell pepper, thinly sliced
4 slices cooked ham
10 slices salami
30 slices pepperoni
4 slices cheddar cheese
4 slices mozzarella cheese
4 slices American cheese

Steps:

  • Slice the bread horizontally in half.
  • Spread the pizza sauce onto the bottom half of the loaf.
  • Sprinkle with Italian seasoning.
  • Layer as follows: green pepper, ham, salami, pepperoni, and cheese; sprinkle with salt/pepper if desired.
  • Replace bread top.
  • Place sandwich on a baking sheet.
  • Bake at 425° for 12-15 minutes or until the cheese is melted.
  • Slice and serve warm.

1/2 cup pizza sauce
1 1/2 teaspoons italian seasoning
1 medium green pepper, thinly sliced
4 slices fully cooked deli ham
10 slices salami
30 slices pepperoni

4 slices mozzarella cheese
4 slices American cheese

Steps:

  • Slice bread in half horizontally.
  • Spread bottom half with pizza sauce,sprinkle with seasoning.
  • Top with green pepper,ham,salami,pepperoni.and cheeses,replace bread top.
  • Place on baking sheet.Bake 425 degrees for 12-15 minutes or until cheese is melted.
  • If cooking on open grill-wrap in foil.
  • If cooking on gas grill covered doesnt need foil.

I was hungry one day and had these supplies all sitting around, so then I decided to make something quick and easy out of them. It's so yummy! **Note** After baking, cut it in half to see if the cheese is melted through, if it isn't, pop it back in the oven (still cut) for another 3 minutes or so.

2 slices bread (I use wheat)
pizza sauce
shredded cheese (I use 2 different kinds)
pepperoni

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
  • Toast the bread in a toaster-- do not burn or over-toast.
  • After they're toasted, place on a plate and spread the pizza sauce over one side of both slices.
  • Sprinkle one layer of cheese, then add a layer of pepperoni, then another layer of cheese on one slice.
  • Place the other slice on top and put on a cookie sheet.
  • Bake for about 6 minutes, or until cheese is melted, wait to cool, and enjoy.

15 -20 ml pizza sauce
6 -8 slices of assorted cold cuts
mozzarella cheese (shredded or in slices will work)
1 oval-shaped bun

Steps:

  • Cut the bun in half if it has not been cut already.
  • Add the 15-20ml of pizza sauce on the bun.
  • Put the 6-8 slices of cold cuts on the pizza sauce.
  • Put the mozza cheese on the cold cuts.
  • OPTIONAL: Microwave for 30 secs.
