This is how you make a Corndog Chaffle recipe and YES! It really does taste like cornbread but it's keto friendly & made without egg whites! Best Keto Chaffle EVER!

Number Of Ingredients 11

Flax Egg - Mix 1 T ground flaxseed with 3 T water
Set aside to rest (If you're not allergic to egg whites skip the flax and use 1 large egg)
1 1/2 T Melted Butter
2 tsp sweetener (granulated)
3 T Almond Flour
1/4 tsp Baking Powder
1 Egg Yolk
2 T heaping Mexican Blend Cheese
1 T chopped Pickled Jalapeños
15 -20 drops Cornbread Flavoring
Extra cheese for sprinkling on waffle maker

Steps:

  • Mix everything together. Let rest for 5 mins. Add 1 T of water or HWC if it's too thick.
  • Sprinkle shredded cheese on the bottom of the waffle maker. Add 1/3 of batter. Sprinkle top with more shredded cheese. Close waffle iron. Don't press down. Remove when cheese is crisp. Repeat. Makes 3.

You can change the texture by adding some almond or coconut flour, turn them into sandwiches, modify them into a dessert, change the flavor by using different cheese, etc. This is a basic chaffle, and it's delicious for breakfast with a pat of butter and drizzle of sugar-free syrup.

1 large egg
½ cup shredded mozzarella cheese

Steps:

  • Preheat a waffle maker.
  • Whisk egg in a small bowl and stir in mozzarella cheese.
  • Pour 1/2 of the batter onto the preheated waffle maker, spreading it out from the center with a spoon. Close the waffle maker and cook until the steaming stops and the chaffle is well browned, about 3 minutes. Don't overcook, as that will make it chewy. Repeat process with remaining batter.

Feel free to add them if you like...but my family ate these up like there was no tomorrow and seemed suprised when...

1 1/2 lb hot dogs--sliced and diced
2 eggs
1 1/2 c milk
2 box jiffy cornbread mix
2 c shredded cheddar

Steps:

  • 1. Preheat oven to 400°.
  • 2. In a large bowl, mix eggs and milk. Cut up 1 pkg hot dogs and add to the mixture.
  • 3. Stir in the 2 boxes of Jiffy mix and 1 1/2 cups of cheddar.
  • 4. Spray a 9"X13" dish with non-stick spray. Pour mixture into the dish. Top with remaining hot dogs and cheese.
  • 5. Bake uncovered for 20-25 minutes. Test for doneness using the toothpick method...the first time I made this, I pulled it from the oven at 20 min..it was BEAUTIFUL..but not done all the way through. *Recipe can be easily cut in half and cooked in a 8"X8" dish.
