EASY NO-BAKE EASTER BIRDS NESTS

Easy No-Bake Easter Birds Nests image

You don't need to wing it this Easter, we have you covered with this quick and easy no-bake Easter treat for kids.

Provided by Samantha Gutmanis

Yield 15-20 nests

Number Of Ingredients 3

6 oz dark chocolate
2 tbsp unsalted butter, vegan butter or coconut oil
3 ½ cups Koala Crisp cereal

Steps:

  • Lightly oil or grease a regular sized muffin tin (15-20 spots). Melt chocolate and butter (or alternate ingredient) in short bursts in the microwave (20-30 seconds) or set a heatproof bowl above (but not touching the bottom) a pot of simmering water. Add cereal and mix together. Place approximately 1/4 cup of cereal mixture into each muffin hole and form mixture into a nest shape (the easiest way to do this is by using a small ice cream scoop to transfer the cereal mixture then flipping and using the back of it to form the nests). Firm up the nests by chilling in the fridge for 10-15 minutes. Top with any egg treat.

SIMPLE EASTER NESTS

Simple Easter Nests image

Just my take on a favorite recipe!! There are so many out there but this is the way I like to make them!! When I made this today I yielded 6 large muffin tins, 6 small, and two left over "hand formed" nests. ;) Total of 14 assorted sizes - depends on your pans what you will yield. Cook time is chill time.

Provided by Mommy Diva

Categories     Candy

Time 1h15m

Yield 14 nests

Number Of Ingredients 4

2 cups chocolate chips
2 tablespoons creamy peanut butter
4 cups chow mein noodles
cooking spray

Steps:

  • Heat water in double boiler over medium heat and add chocolate chips to top portion.
  • When chocolate begins to melt, add peanut butter and continue to stir until creamy.
  • Add broken chow mein noodles, stirring until completely coated.
  • Remove from heat and place upper portion on a folded towel to allow cooling while you prepare tins.
  • Spray muffin tins (I liked the large size best, but make both for varied sizes) with cooking spray (such as Pam).
  • Spoon generous amount of mixture into each cup creating a well in the center as you go.
  • Continue until all of mixture is used up.
  • Place jelly beans, M&M's Peeps or other candies for garnish as desired.
  • Chill in refridgerator for at least 1 hour or until chocolate has hardened.
  • Remove from tins and serve or package to gift - should be used within a couple of days.
  • For additional garnish, can be served on dyed green coconut and tied in cellophane bundles with ribbons to give as gifts.
  • Enjoy!
