Steps:
- Prepare pasta noodles adding the Olive Oil and 1 tsp of salt. Cook according to package directions. Brown hamburger and season with salt, garlic powder and onion powder (add the seasoning while it's still raw but cooking, just sprinkle it over the top of it. Warm tomato sauce in a different pan adding the milk, sugar, 1 tsp of salt, 1/4 tsp of garlic powder, 1/4 tsp of onion powder, and 1/8 tsp of pepper. (This is basically a homemade version of tomato soup. You can also just use 2 cans of tomato soup prepared instead of this). Once these are all cooked, drain the pasta and combine in a large pot the pasta, hamburger, corn (drained), and tomato sauce/soup. Mix together, adding salt to taste. Serve warm.

Hot dish or goulash, call it what you want. I grew up on this quick and easy meal. I have tweaked the ingredients a bit, but the results are just as good. Serve with a side salad for a great weekday dinner. Enjoy.

GRAMMA'S HAMBURGER HOTDISH
This is a one dish meal that was my favorite when I was kid. I ate it with cold cottage cheese on the side. I think the casserole was served too hot for me and the cottage cheese cooled it down and added a bit of cheese. This was a recipe my Gramma obviously made - hense the name. I wish I could say that my kids loved it as much as I did but for some reason they just don't like many foods mixed together yet. My sister-in-law is from Scotland and she said it reminds her of foods she ate when she was a kid. My Grampa's family was from Scotland so maybe it was something his Mom made - I guess I will never really know since they aren't around to ask any more. My Dad was the one who alwaysalways said that the key to anything with tomato sauce was to add a little bit of sugar. I don't do this anymore but left it in the recipe because it was my Dad's contribution.
