Nothing says "fall is here" quite like the smell of tender-baked apples filling your home. This simple and downright delicious apple crisp gives you all the flavor you could ever ask for in a dessert, and is as quick to make as it is to finish. The cherry on top? A generous topping of cream or vanilla ice cream.

4 medium tart cooking apples, sliced (4 cups)
3/4 cup packed brown sugar
1/2 cup Gold Medal™ all-purpose flour
1/2 cup quick-cooking or old-fashioned oats
1/3 cup butter, softened
3/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
3/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
Cream or Ice cream, if desired

Steps:

  • Heat oven to 375°F. Grease bottom and sides of 8-inch square pan with shortening.
  • Spread apples in pan. In medium bowl, stir remaining ingredients except cream until well mixed; sprinkle over apples.
  • Bake about 30 minutes or until topping is golden brown and apples are tender when pierced with a fork. Serve warm with cream.

5 medium apples, (about 5 cups)
1 tbsp lemon juice
1 tsp cinnamon
1/4 cup light brown sugar

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease a 9 x 9 pan with nonstick cooking spray.Make Crisp Topping: Add brown sugar, flour, oats, and butter to a food processor fitted with the blade attachment. Pulse for 30 seconds or until the mixture is combined and resembles small pea size crumbs.
  • Make Apple Filling: In a medium bowl combine apples, lemon juice, cinnamon and brown sugar.
  • Bake: For 40-50 minutes or until the top is golden brown. Serve warm with ice cream and enjoy!

5 large apples, peeled and sliced
3/4 cup old-fashioned oats
3/4 cup packed brown sugar

6 tablespoons cold butter, cubed

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350°. Stir together granulated sugar and 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon; toss with apples. In a greased microwave-safe 11x7-in. baking dish, microwave apples until slightly softened, about 4 minutes., Meanwhile, using a fork, combine oats, brown sugar, flour and remaining cinnamon. Cut in butter until crumbly; sprinkle over apples. Bake until apples are soft and topping is golden brown, 30-40 minutes. Serve warm.

Steps:

1 tablespoon all purpose flour
1 tablespoon brown sugar
¼ teaspoon cinnamon, plus more for topping
1 pinch kosher salt
2 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened
whipped cream, for serving

Steps:

  • Make the filling: Peel the apple, then dice into small pieces, avoiding the core.
  • Add the apple and water to a large, microwave-safe mug. Microwave for 1 minute, until the apple is tender.
  • Remove from the microwave and stir in the cinnamon, brown sugar, flour, and salt.
  • Make the crumble topping: In a small bowl, mix together the oats, flour, brown sugar, cinnamon, and salt with a fork. Mash in the butter until crumbly chunks form.

1 spice cake mix
1/2 cup butter, softened
6 -8 golden delicious apples, sliced, cored, and peeled
1/4 cup Splenda sugar substitute or 1/4 cup white sugar
1 -2 teaspoon apple pie spice
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup flour
1/2 cup quick-cooking oats
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
1/4 cup plus 1 tbsp. butter, softened

Steps:

  • Combine crust ingredients.
  • Press into the bottom of a 9x13 baking dish.
  • Stir together the filling: sliced apples, sugar, and cinnamon together. Spread over cake mixture.
  • In a medium bowl, combine brown sugar, flour, oats, cinnamon, and remaining butter until mixture turns into coarse crumbs.
