GINGER SAUCE RECIPE



Ginger Sauce Recipe image

There are many different types of ginger sauce recipes, but we particularly like to serve it with xiaolongbao and seafood dishes.

1/2 cup light soy sauce
1/4 cup rice wine vinegar
2 teaspoons ginger, minced
2 tablespoons brown sugar
2 spring onions, finely chopped

Steps:

  • Gather the ingredients.
  • Combine soy sauce, rice wine vinegar, and minced ginger in a small bowl. Set aside.
  • Melt brown sugar over high heat in a small heavy saucepan until just melted but not burnt.
  • Add soy sauce and rice wine vinegar mixture.
  • Bring to a boil until brown sugar has melted again (it will harden temporarily after the soy sauce mixture is added).
  • Remove from heat, pour into a serving dish, and garnish with chopped spring onions.
  • Serve with pot stickers, gyoza, or other Chinese dumplings.

Excellent and very interesting side dish or condiment to seafood. The fresh ginger is really delicious and will keep for a couple of weeks in tight container

Number Of Ingredients 6

4 ounces mayonnaise
4 ounces sour cream
4 ounces seafood cocktail sauce or 4 ounces chili sauce
1/4 cup finely diced fresh ginger (more or less to taste, can have a "kick" to it with more)
1 -2 tablespoon sugar or 1 -2 tablespoon corn syrup
1 -2 drop Tabasco sauce or 1 -2 teaspoon datil hot pepper sauce (to desired heat level)

Steps:

  • Grate fresh ginger with very fine grater.
  • Mix all ingredients as shown.
  • Refrigerate for an hour or so.
  • Use your own taste to make more or less spicy as fresh ginger is very pungent.
  • Delicious on Shrimp or fried fish.

An easy quick dish as long as you have some sage leaves. Serve with your favorite pasta. Add 1 cup of the hot water, from the pasta-cooking pot to the ingredients

1/2 cup butter (to taste)
10 fresh whole sage leaves
1/4 teaspoon fresh ground black pepper (to taste)
1/2 lemon, juice of
1 cup parmigiano-reggiano cheese, grated

Steps:

  • Melt the butter in a pan over medium heat, lay in the sage leaves and heat until the butter is sizzling gently. Toast the leaves for 1 minute or so.
  • Ladle in 1 cup boiling pasta water; stir the sauce and simmer for about 2 minutes and reduce liquid by half before adding pasta. Grind the black pepper directly into the sauce. Add lemon juice.
  • Keep the sauce hot over very low heat; return to a simmer just before adding pasta
  • Finish cooked pasta and sauce in the skillet. Off the heat, toss in the cheese just before serving.
