1 ounce whole dried ginseng root
1/3 ounce whole licorice root
1/3 ounce fresh ginger root, plus more for garnish if desired

Steps:

  • Put the ginseng and 8 cups water in a saucepan over medium heat. Bring to a boil, reduce to simmer and simmer for 1 hour. Add the licorice root and ginger root and 2 more cups cold water. Bring the tea to a boil again, reduce heat and simmer for 30 minutes and strain. Serve in 4-ounce cups garnished with an additional slice of peeled ginger root for aroma.

1 teaspoon dried ginseng roots or 2 teaspoons fresh grated ginseng roots
1 teaspoon dried lemongrass or 2 teaspoons fresh lemongrass
1 cinnamon stick
4 -6 cardamom pods, cracked
1 -2 tablespoon sugar or 1 -2 tablespoon honey

Steps:

  • Add the ginseng, lemongrass, cinnamon, and cardamom to saucepan. Cover with three cups of filtered water.
  • Bring the mixture to a rolling boil over medium-high heat; then reduce to medium-low.
  • Simmer 10 to 15 minutes, strain into a clean drinking container and serve sweetened to staste with sugar or honey.
  • Garnish with a lemon slice, if desired, for an extra burst of lemon flavor. Lemongrass ginseng tea may be served warm or chilled over ice.

1/2 cup granulated sugar
2 tablespoons honey
3 tablespoons lemon juice
1/4 teaspoon american ginseng extract

Steps:

  • Heat water to boiling in a saucepan.
  • Remove saucepan from heat, put the tea bag into the water, then let the tea steep, covered, for one hour.
  • Place the sugar and honey in a large pitcher.
  • Pour the steeped tea into the pitcher, stirring until all the sugar is dissolved.
  • Add remaining ingredients and stir well.
  • Chill before serving.
