This decadent coffee/tea beverage from Hong Kong is delicious hot or iced. Experiment to find the proportion of coffee to tea that suits you best. This recipe is basic 1:1. A second can of evaporated or condensed milk may be used for a richer, creamier drink. Malaysia has a similar treat called "Kopi Cham".

Ingredients

3 cups water
1/4 cup black tea leaves (or six black tea bags, strings removed)
1 (12 ounce) can evaporated milk (or use sweetened condensed milk)
sugar
3 cups strong coffee

Steps:

Bring water to a boil. Add tea leaves/bags and simmer three minutes.
Stir in milk. Simmer 3 more minute.
Stir in coffee. Stir in sugar to taste. Strain.
Serve hot or chilled over ice.

1 lb oxtail
1 onion, cut into strips
1 tomatoes, cut into chunks
2 potatoes, peeled and cubed
1 carrot, peeled and cubed
2 celery ribs, chopped
4 cups cabbage, shredded
2 garlic cloves, diced
1 bay leaf
salt and pepper
2 beef bouillon cubes
1 teaspoon paprika
1/4 cup tomato paste
1/4 cup ketchup
1/4 cup oil
8 cups water

Steps:

brown ox tail in oil.
add tomato paste.
add spices.
add onion.
add celery.
add carrots.
add garlic.
add water.
add bouillon cubes
simmer for 2 hours.( i put in crock pot because it was starting to burn on stove top and worked great ).
if using crock pot add everything here
add rest of ingredients.
simmer for 1 hours.

First brew your black tea leaves in 4 1/2 cups of water. While the tea is steeping, brew your coffee with your preferred method. Make sure both the tea and coffee are fairly strong!
When the coffee and tea are ready, combine them in a large bowl or carafe. Stir the sugar into the coffee/tea mixture and add the half and half. Stir thoroughly and serve!
This makes 8-10 servings depending on mug size. You can also serve this tea chilled or with ice!
