Keto Jam image

This keto jam is thick, spreadable, gooey, and perfect to use on your favorite low carb bread! 3 ingredients and easily customizable!

Number Of Ingredients 4

2 cups strawberries (fresh or frozen * See notes)
1 tablespoon lemon juice
1 1/2 tablespoon chia seeds
1-2 tablespoon keto maple syrup (optional)

Steps:

  • In a small saucepan, add your fruit and place it over medium heat. Bring it to a simmer, and gently mix through it, for the berries to break down.
  • Add the lemon juice and chia seeds and mix well, until combined. Allow the jam to simmer for a further 5 minutes. Taste the jam and if it isn't sweet enough, add the maple syrup.
  • Remove the jam from the heat and let it cool completely. Once it has cooled, transfer to a glass jar or container and refrigerate it.

  • Grab a smaller saucepan and add in your syrup and then your cleaned and chopped strawberries. Turn the heat to low and cook for around five minutes. You will find the strawberries get a bit tender, and you can use a fork or spoon to begin mashing them up a bit.
  • Then when you see the mixture begins to bubble add in the rest of the ingredients. The seeds will help to thicken the jam.
  • Remove from heat, and then let cool a bit. Once cooled down, pour into glass containers and store in the fridge.
