Steps:

  • Combine the sour cream, cream cheese, and ranch seasoning in a large bowl and stir until smooth.
  • Add in the cheddar cheese and stir until well-blended.
  • Lastly, add in the crumbled bacon and the green onions and stir.

2 packages (8 oz each) cream cheese, softened to room temperature
1 cup sour cream
6 green onions, sliced, divided
2 cups shredded cheddar cheese, divided
3/4 cup cooked and crumbled bacon, divided

Steps:

  • In a mixing bowl, combine cream cheese and sour cream until blended.
  • Add in 5 sliced green onions, 1 cup cheddar, and 1/2 cup cooked bacon bits.
  • Spread mixture in a deep dish pie plate, or similar sized baking dish (about 1-2 qt). Make sure it is microwave friendly (if heating that route) or oven safe (if heating that route).
  • Top with remaining cheese and cook.
  • If microwaving, cover with plastic wrap and cook for about 5 minutes.
  • If cooking in oven, cook uncovered for about 20 minutes in a 375 degree F oven.
  • When done cooking, top with remaining green onions and bacon. Serve hot with potato chips.

1 (12 ounce) package bacon, cooked and crumbled
1 green onion, sliced
2 (8 ounce) packages finely shredded cheese
1 (32 ounce) sour cream
1 envelope ranch dip and salad dressing mix (like Hidden Valley)
Sturdy kettle-style potato chips or cooked crispy waffle fries

Steps:

  • Set aside a pinch of the bacon, green onion, cheese and a dab of sour cream for garnish.
  • Mix together the remaining sour cream and ranch seasoning in a lidded storage bowl; add the remaining cheese, bacon and green onion and mix well. Cover and refrigerate overnight for the best flavor.
  • Let rest at room temperature or microwave in 20 second intervals to loosen.
  • Transfer to chip and dip serving bowl, surround with potato chips or cooked crisp waffle fries.

(In case it's not clear, we are speaking from experience, this addictive dip was inspired by our endless appetite for spuds!). At a party though, this is just the thing, especially because you can whip it up 30 minutes before your guests arrive-thanks to quick-and-easy Betty Crocker™ roasted garlic mashed potatoes. The potatoes are made even more decadent by the addition of sour cream, cream cheese and butter. Not to mention the loaded baked potato-inspired toppings which include: bacon, green onions, cheddar cheese and some chopped parsley. 1 cup milk
2 tablespoons butter
1 pouch (4.7 oz) Betty Crocker™ roasted garlic mashed potatoes

1 container (8 oz) sour cream
1/2 teaspoon pepper
4 green onions, thinly sliced
2 tablespoons chopped fresh Italian (flat-leaf) parsley leaves

Steps:

  • Spray 12-inch skillet with cooking spray; place over medium heat. Add bacon; cook 7 to 9 minutes or until crispy. Using slotted spoon, transfer bacon to paper towel-lined plate. Discard all but 2 tablespoons of drippings.
  • Add water, milk and butter to drippings in skillet; heat to boiling over medium-high heat. Reduce heat to low. Stir in potatoes; remove from heat.
