1/2 cup uncooked elbow macaroni
1/2 pound bulk pork sausage
1/4 cup chopped green pepper
2 tablespoons chopped onion
1/4 teaspoon dried oregano
1/8 teaspoon pepper
1 can (8 ounces) tomato sauce
1/2 cup water
4 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese, divided

Steps:

  • Cook macaroni according to package directions; drain and set aside. In a large skillet, cook sausage over medium heat until no longer pink; drain. Add the green pepper, onion, oregano and pepper. Stir in tomato sauce and water. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat; simmer, uncovered, for 5 minutes., Stir in macaroni and 2 tablespoons cheese. Transfer to an ungreased 1-qt. baking dish. Sprinkle with the remaining cheese. Bake, uncovered, at 350° for 20-25 minutes or until bubbly.

1 pound elbow macaroni
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 pound sweet Italian sausage, casings removed
1 red bell pepper, seeded and chopped
1 onion, chopped
2 1/2 cups half-and-half
1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
Two 8-ounce packages cream cheese, at room temperature
One 8-ounce block sharp Cheddar, grated
1 cup grated Gruyere

Steps:

  • Preheat the oven to 425 degrees F.
  • Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the macaroni and cook according to package directions for al dente. Reserve 1 3/4 cups of the pasta cooking water and then drain the pasta; set aside.
  • Heat the oil in a large Dutch oven or saucepot over medium-high heat. Add the sausage and cook until lightly browned, breaking up the meat into small pieces, about 5 minutes. Transfer the browned meat to a plate with a slotted spoon. Add the bell pepper, onion and a pinch of salt to the drippings in the pot and cook, stirring occasionally, until softened and lightly browned, 10 to 12 minutes; transfer to the plate with the sausage.
  • Carefully wipe out the pot, add the half-and-half and cayenne and bring to a simmer over medium heat. Simmer until reduced to 1 1/2 cups, about 15 minutes. Add the cream cheese and stir until melted. Gradually whisk in the Cheddar and Gruyere, 1 handful at time, until all the cheese is melted and the sauce is smooth. Remove from the heat.
  • Add the cooked pasta and reserved pasta cooking water to the cheese sauce and stir to combine. Stir in the sausage and vegetables; adjust the seasoning with additional salt. Pour into a 9-by-13-inch baking dish and bake until bubbly and lightly browned, about 10 minutes.

1 pound homemade-style spicy pork sausage, removed from casings and crumbled
1 cup chopped yellow onions
1/2 cup chopped green bell peppers
1 tablespoon Essence, recipe follows
4 teaspoons minced garlic
1/2 teaspoon anise seeds
1/2 cup all-purpose flour
3 cups whole milk
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
1/8 teaspoon cayenne
3 cups grated sharp cheddar cheese (8 ounces)
1/2 cup fine dry bread crumbs
2 1/2 tablespoons paprika
2 tablespoons salt
2 tablespoons garlic powder
1 tablespoon black pepper
1 tablespoon onion powder
1 tablespoon cayenne pepper
1 tablespoon dried leaf oregano
1 tablespoon dried thyme

Steps:

  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.
  • Butter a large casserole dish with 1 tablespoon of the butter and set aside.
  • Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the macaroni and cook until al dente, about 10 minutes. Drain in a colander and rinse under cold running water. Drain well.

Using a whisk, add the milk in a steady stream and cook, whisking constantly, until thick and smooth, 4 to 5 minutes. Remove from the heat. Add the salt, pepper, cayenne, and 2 cups of the cheese, and stir well. Add the noodles, cooked sausage and vegetables, and stir well to combine. Pour into the prepared baking dish.
  • In a mixing bowl, combine the remaining 1 cup of cheese with the breadcrumbs and remaining 2 teaspoons of Essence. Sprinkle over the macaroni and bake until golden brown and bubbly, about 25 minutes.
  • Remove from the oven and let rest for 5 minutes before serving.
  • Combine all ingredients thoroughly and store in an airtight jar or container.

1 lb ground breakfast sausage
4 Tbsp flour
4 Tbsp margarine
2 cups milk
2-1/4 cups Kraft Mild Shredded Cheddar Cheese, divided

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 400°F. Grease the bottom and sides of a 9x13 inch casserole dish. Start cooking macaroni according to package instructions. You may start to brown the sausage remember to stir frequently to keep from burning.
  • While these are cooking, place flour and margarine in a 6-cup measuring cup or equal size mixing bowl. Place in microwave on high for 30-45 seconds or until margarine is fully melted. Remove and stir. Add milk and put back in microwave, on high, for 2 minutes. Stir again and add 2 cups cheese. Put in microwave on high for 3 minutes and stir. Drain macaroni and drain sausage. Mix all together in the 9x13 dish. Sprinkle with 1/4 cup cheese.
  • Bake, uncovered, for 45 minutes.

Steps:

  • Gather the ingredients.
