Steps:
- In a large saucepan, heat the oil over medium-high heat. Add the chicken, stir to coat and cook until brown on all sides, about 5 minutes. Add the carrots, celery, onions, garlic and leek and continue cooking until the vegetables are a light brown. Add enough water to cover the chicken, and then add the peppercorns, parsley and thyme. Stir to mix and bring to a simmer. Reduce the heat to low and let simmer until the meat falls off the bone, about 2 hours.
- Keep the chicken aside and let cool. Keep the stock. Debone and cut the meat in chunks. Strain and skim the fat from the stock. Adjust the seasoning with salt and pepper. (This step can be done the day before.)
- Add the potatoes to the stock and cook for 20 minutes. Skim the surface if necessary. Add the pasta and continue cooking until the pasta is al dente, 8 to 10 minutes. Add the chicken chunks. Adjust the seasoning and serve.

Steps:
- Beat together cream cheese and margarine until well blended. Add flour, mixing well. Shape into a ball, cover and chill for 2 hours.
- In saucepan over medium heat, cook sugar and milk, stirring occasionally until milk boils and sugar is dissolved. Add the ground nuts. Remove from heat and let cool until mixture is of spreading consistency.
- Roll out chilled dough on lightly floured surface to a rectangle about 18 X 12 inches. Cut in half lengthwise. Spread each piece with milk/nut filling and roll up like a jelly-roll, starting from the long side.
- Cut each roll in half. Place seam side down on ungreased cookie sheets (two on a baking sheet). Leaving roll's shape intact, cut into slices 1/2 inch thick almost to the bottom of the roll.
- Bake at 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) for 15 to 20 minutes or till done. Remove from sheet and sprinkle with confectioners' sugar. Cool on racks. Cut cookies all the way through. Refrigerate or freeze. Re-sprinkle with confectioners' sugar before serving.
- Variations: A) In place of milk/sugar/nut filling, spread with ground filberts and red raspberry preserves. B) Before rolling, sprinkle chopped chocolate chips over milk/sugar/nuts filling.

Steps:
- Preheat the oven to 425 degrees F (220 degrees C).
- Place 1 pie crust in a 9-inch pie plate. Poke several holes in the bottom of the crust.
- Bake crust in the preheated oven for 5 minutes. Remove and set aside to cool.
- Heat oil in a medium skillet over medium-high heat. Season both sides of chicken breasts with rosemary, parsley, salt, and pepper. Add chicken to the skillet and saute until golden brown, 2 to 4 minutes per side.
- Reduce heat to medium-low and add 2/3 cup chicken broth. Simmer, being careful not to overcook, just until chicken juices run clear, 10 to 15 minutes. Transfer chicken to a plate, allowing it to cool until the juices settle, about 15 minutes. Reserve pan drippings.
- Meanwhile, melt butter in a large skillet over medium heat. Add pan drippings and garlic. Saute until garlic is fragrant, about 30 seconds. Add onion, salt, and pepper and cook until onion is translucent, about 5 minutes. Whisk in flour until mixture thickens.
- Add 1 3/4 cups chicken broth and milk, 1 cup of liquid at a time, whisking constantly. Remove from heat once mixture begins to thicken.
- Cut chicken into bite-sized pieces and mix with thawed vegetables and broth mixture until combined. Pour into the pre-baked pie crust. Cut slits in the remaining pie crust and place it on top of the pie, crimping the edges to seal and decorating them with tongs or a fork, if desired.
- Place pot pie in the oven and bake until crust is golden brown, 30 to 40 minutes. Check edges halfway through baking time and cover them with aluminum foil if they start to brown too much.
