MARGARET'S HOT MULLED WINE
My grandmother Margaret loved to entertain. This was one of her favorite beverages for cold, blustery, rainy days. We've served it through the years, usually during the holidays, and it's always a huge hit. If desired, serve flecked with nutmeg.

Steps:
- Bring water to a boil in a saucepan; dissolve sugar in water. Stir in lemon quarter, cloves, and cinnamon into water; boil for 10 minutes. Strain and return to saucepan.
- Stir red wine into water-sugar mixture; heat until piping hot, but not boiling, about 5 minutes.

Steps:
- Preheat oven to 400 degrees farenheit.
- Line two cookie sheets with parchment, if available.
- Cream butter and sugar.
- Mix in flours.
- Roll out to 1/4" on a floured surface.
- Cut into rectangles using a sharp knife or better yet, a ravioli/pie cutter with the wavy edge.
- Tranfer onto a lined cookie sheet, leaving 1/2" between cookies.
- Poke cookies with a fork and sprinkle with sugar (or even cinnamon sugar).
- Bake for 15-20 minutes or until the edges are slightly golden brown.
- Cool on a wire rack.

My grandma used to make these cookies to bring for coffee after church and us kids LOVED them! These bring back so many memories. I am putting them up here so that I don't lose the recipe.

- In a saucepan combine sugar, cocoa powder, evaporated milk, and margarine. Bring them to a boil over low heat until the sugar is completely dissolved.
- Remove from the heat and add the coconut and rolled oats. Drop by the spoonful onto cookie sheet covered with wax or parchment paper. Let cool and then enjoy!
