MOM'S FAVORITE MEATLOAF

Mom's Favorite Meatloaf image

I don't really like meatloaf at all, but when mom made this one, she really had a hit with the entire family! Not your typical meatloaf -- very tasty! Use fresh sausage, not frozen! Use more crackers if the loaf seems too moist before cooking. Excellent for sandwiches the next day!!

HAPPY HUBBY MEATLOAF

Happy Hubby Meatloaf image

"The way to a man's heart is through his stomach". Meatloaf is my husband's favorite meal, and after 12 years and 2 kids, I guess I'm doing something right!

Provided by Jenni K

Categories     Meatloafs

Time 1h45m

Number Of Ingredients 11

1 1/2 lb ground beef
1/2 lb ground pork
1 egg
1 Tbsp worcestershire sauce
1/4 tsp each of ground mustard, celery salt, and pepper
1/2 tsp garlic salt
1/4 Tbsp italian seasoning
1/2 tsp accent seasoning
1/4 c milk
1/2 c fresh minced onion
3 slice soft white bread

Steps:

  • 1. Put meats and all other ingredients besides bread in a large bowl and mix together (I use my hands).
  • 2. Grind up bread in Magic Bullet or food processor. Add to meat mixture and mix well.
  • 3. Put in a loaf pan and bake at 350 for 1.5 hours or until done. If desired, you can spread ketchup or BBQ sauce on top the last 15 minutes of baking. (for another option, you can also add 1/2 cup of grated carrots into meat mixture before baking)

EASY (AND TASTY) MEATLOAF

Easy (And Tasty) Meatloaf image

This is the meatloaf recipe my family has used my whole life. I love it! Of course, we have to double to whole recipe, using 2 to 3 pounds ground beef, the whole package of onion soup mix, and a 12 fluid ounce can of Carnation evaporated milk. This is good with baked potatoes and some Bush's baked beans. (or any other vegetables: corn, peas...) I hope you like it!

Time 55m

Yield 5-7 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 6

1 lb ground beef
2 tablespoons dry onion soup mix
1 (5 ounce) can evaporated milk (2/3 cup)
2 tablespoons ketchup
2 tablespoons firmly packed brown sugar
1 teaspoon mustard

Steps:

  • Heat oven to 350 degrees.
  • In 8 by 4 inch loaf pan, combine first 3 ingredients; mix well (mixture will be very moist) Press evenly in pan.
  • Combine brown sugar, mustard, and ketchup in a small bowl. (We seem to double -- or triple the topping- It is so good!) Spoon over mixture.
  • Bake for 45 minutes.
  • Using spatulas, lift meat loaf from pan to a serving plate. (Because it will be in lots of liquid, mostly water if using lean ground beef).
  • Enjoy!
