This is another great recipe that I found in Kraft Food & Family magazine. It's so easy to make and tastes like you treated yourself to a night out at your local steakhouse.

2 teaspoons brown sugar
2 teaspoons garlic powder
2 teaspoons onion powder
1 teaspoon fresh coarse ground black pepper
4 (6 ounce) beef tenderloin steaks
1 tablespoon vegetable oil

Steps:

  • Preheat grill to medium-high heat.
  • Mix brown sugar and seasonings.
  • Brush steaks with oil. Sprinkle seasoning mixture evenly over both sides of steaks; press gently into steaks to secure.
  • Grill 6 to 8 minutes on each side or until cooked through.
  • Grill assorted vegetables along with the steak. Then, add a crisp mixed green salad for a balanced meal.
  • These steaks are great with the new Cracked Pepper A.1. sauce.

For juicy meat and a great crust, choose a thicker cut such as rib eye. Because this type of steak takes longer to cook, it will have time to develop a nice sear.

1 porterhouse, flank, or rib-eye steak (1 3/4 pounds and 1 1/2 inch thick)
Coarse salt and ground pepper

Steps:

  • Heat grill to medium-high; clean and lightly oil hot grates. Generously season steak with salt and pepper.
  • Grill steak 8 minutes, rotating 90 degrees halfway through. Flip steak and cook 8 minutes more for medium-rare (a thermometer inserted horizontally into center of meat should register 125 degrees), rotating again halfway through. Let rest 8 to 10 minutes before serving.

Vegetable oil, for grates
4 bone-in rib-eye steaks (1 pound each, 1 1/2 inches thick), preferably pasture-raised
Coarse salt and freshly ground pepper

Steps:

  • Heat grill to high; clean and lightly oil hot grates. Let steaks stand at room temperature for 30 minutes. Generously season both sides of steaks with salt and pepper. Grill steaks, rotating once to create hatch marks, until well-browned on the outside and cooked to desired doneness, 6 to 7 minutes per side on a charcoal grill (or 8 to 9 minutes per side on a gas grill) for medium-rare (about 125 degrees). Transfer to a platter; cover with foil. Let rest for 10 minutes. Slice steaks against the grain.

1/2 cup KRAFT Balsamic Vinaigrette Dressing
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 tsp. dried oregano leaves
2 boneless beef rib-eye steaks (1 lb.)

Steps:

  • Mix first 4 ingredients; reserve 1/4 cup. Pour remaining steak sauce mixture over steaks in shallow glass dish; turn to evenly coat both sides of steak with sauce. Refrigerate 30 min. to marinate.
  • Heat grill to medium-high heat. Remove steaks from marinade; discard marinade.
  • Grill steaks 4 to 5 min. on each side or until medium doneness (160°F). Cut steaks in half; serve topped with reserved sauce.

It is the perfect blend of flavors and it leaves the meat tender without being overpowering. Note: I'm not sure of the origins of this recipe, I don't see a duplicate. Will post a picture.

  • Remove the steak from the refrigerator and let it reach room temperature — around 30 minutes. Trim excess fat to avoid flare-ups, and vertically slash the thin piece of fat around the outside of the steak to keep it from curling. Liberally apply sea salt and black pepper(or your favorite steak house seasoning blend) . Flip the steak and repeat the process.
  • Light one chimney full of charcoal. When all the charcoal is lit and covered with gray ash, pour out and arrange the coals on one side of the charcoal grate. Set cooking grate in place, cover grill and allow to preheat for 5 minutes. Clean and oil the grilling grate.
  • Place the steak at the hottest part of the grate, directly above the coals, and let it sear for two to three minutes, then flip the steak and sear the other side for two to three minutes. (During the searing process, resist the urge to move the steak around with the tongs, as this will prevent optimal grill marks. Close the lid to prevent flare-ups.)
  • After the steak is properly seared, if it’s not finished, move it to the warm side of the grate (not directly over the coals), close the lid and continue to cook the steak until it’s at your desired temperature for doneness. You don’t need to flip the steak during this indirect grilling stage.
