Number Of Ingredients 11

3 lemon wedges
3 tablespoons kosher salt
2 teaspoons coarsely ground pepper
Ice cubes
3 cups chilled tomato juice
2 cups chilled beer
3/4 cup chilled vodka
1/3 cup lemon juice
4 teaspoons hot pepper sauce
2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
Sliced cooked bratwurst links, cheese curds and small dill pickles

Steps:

  • Using lemon wedges, moisten the rims of six highball glasses. Sprinkle salt and pepper on a plate; dip rims in mixture. Fill with ice; set glasses aside., In a large pitcher, combine tomato juice, beer, vodka, lemon juice, hot pepper sauce and Worcestershire sauce; pour into prepared glasses. Garnish with skewers of bratwurst, cheese and pickles.

True Wisconsin Bloody Mary image

This is my Wisconsin version of a classic Bloody Mary drink. On special occasions, garnish with skewered bite-size pieces of Wisconsin Cheddar, Monterey Jack, pepperoni, salami, green olives or cocktail shrimp on top. Best when consumed before noon.

4 ice cubes
1 (1.5 fluid ounce) jigger vodka
3 pimento-stuffed green olives
1 tablespoon brine from olive jar
½ teaspoon celery salt
½ teaspoon ground black pepper
3 dashes Dash Worcestershire sauce
3 dashes hot pepper sauce (e.g. Texas Pete's™)
1 cup tomato and clam juice cocktail
1 stalk celery, with leaves

Steps:

  • Fill a large tumbler with ice cubes. Pour in the vodka, then drop in the olives and the olive brine. Season with celery salt, pepper, Worcestershire sauce and hot pepper sauce. Fill the remainder of the glass with tomato and clam juice cocktail. Stir with the celery stalk and leave it in as a garnish. Sprinkle with a little bit of celery salt before serving.

  • Divide the vodka between 2 tall, chilled glasses filled with ice. Fill the glasses with the tomato juice mixture; stir. Add smoked chubs and kosher dill spears to glasses. For each serving, thread 2 olives on a cocktail pick. Place each across the rim of each glass and serve. Makes 2 (about 10-ounce) servings.
