1 1/2 lbs moose, cubed (or steak)
4 teaspoons soya sauce
1 onion, chopped
3 tablespoons oil
1/2 cup uncooked rice
1 cup water (or stock of your choice)
1 (12 ounce) can cream of mushroom soup
1 (12 ounce) can sliced mushrooms
1 cup peas
salt and pepper

Steps:

  • Brown meat, onion and celery in oil in frypan. Transfer to casserole dish.
  • Mix remaining 9 ingredients together in a bowl. Pour over meat and bake in a 350 oven for 20 to 30 minutes, or until rice is cooked.
  • Add veggies of your choice, diced small, and herbs/spices to taste. This can be cooked in Slow Cooker all day....meat is tenderer.
  • Serve with bannock or baking powder bisquits.

I've made this recipe once at my hunting cabin and it came out to be so good, now my family always ask for it very often..It can be made with beef or any wild meat.

1 lb ground meat
4 -5 large potatoes
1 medium green onion
2 large garlic cloves
1 (28 ounce) can cubed tomatoes
1 (10 ounce) can consomme
olive oil
1/2 teaspoon thyme
1 teaspoon oregano
1 tablespoon tomato paste
2 teaspoons butter
cream or milk
1 pinch nutmeg

Steps:

  • Wrap potato in foil and into the oven at 350 for 1 hour or until cooked.
  • In a frying pan add olive oil and sauté oignons and garlic for 4 minutes.
  • Add meat and sauté for 4 minutes.
  • Add tomatoes, consommé, tomatoe paste, oregano, thym and let cook at medium heat for 20 minutes.
  • After the potatoes are done, peal and add to a bowl, smash, add cream and butter and nutmeg put aside.
  • In a 9 inch glass pyrex style oven plater, add the meat and tomatoe, then, add potatoes in a cake bag and spread potatoes on top of the meat and into the oven at 350 for 30 minutes or until potatoes are golden.
  • Eat with a nice french bagette -- Enjoy.

1 cup chopped onion
1 cup chopped celery
1 cup chopped green pepper
2 cloves garlic, minced
2 1/2 cups low-fat chicken broth
1 (19 ounce) can tomatoes, undrained,cut up
1 tablespoon tomato paste
1 teaspoon chili powder
1 teaspoon ground cumin
1 teaspoon ground thyme
1 teaspoon dried basil
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes (or more, to taste)
1 1/4 cups uncooked long grain white rice
1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley (or 1 T. dried)
3/4 lb bay scallop

Steps:

  • In a large saucepan, combine onions, celery, green pepper, garlic, and 1/4 cup of the chicken broth.
  • Saute vegetables over medium-high heat for about 5 minutes, until softened.
  • Add remaining chicken broth, tomatoes, tomato paste and seasonings.
  • Bring to a boil.
  • Add rice.
  • Reduce heat to low.
  • Cover.
  • Simmer, stirring occasionally, for 20 minutes, or until rice is almost tender.
  • Add parsley and scallops.
  • Cover and cook for 5-6 minutes, until scallops are tender and opaque.
  • Stir well and serve.

1 (9 inch) pie pastry
3/4 lb lean ground beef
1/2 cup chopped onion
1 garlic clove, crushed
1/2 teaspoon mustard powder
1 cup diced tomato
2 cups chopped fresh spinach
3/4 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon lemon juice
1/2 crushed red pepper flakes

Steps:

  • Combine all filling ingredients in frying pan and bring to a boil. Stir to break up meat, simmer uncovered for 30 minutes. Chill for 2 hours.
  • Roll pastry as for a pie...but make in 12 inch circles...the size of a saucer.
  • Place portions of filling in the center of each pastry circle, and dampen the edges with a little water. That acts like glue. Fold each circle in half and press edges together with water. Put on greased cookie sheet. Brush with beaten egg.
  • Bake in 425 degree oven for about 20 to 25 minutes, or until golden brown.
  • Spices in this dish are a matter of choice. For spicy, add tabasco sauce, hot sauce, or jalepeno peppers. For milder, add parsley, sage, rosemary, etc. Your taste!
