6 slices cooked bacon (diced, remove from fat)
1 1/2 lbs hamburger
1 cup celery, chopped
1 cup onion, chopped
1/2 cup green pepper, chopped
1 (10 3/4 ounce) can tomato soup
1 dash salt
1 dash pepper

Steps:

  • Brown celery, onion and pepper in bacon fat until tender.
  • Combine all ingredients in sauce pan.
  • Cover and simmer until cooked through.
  • Place mixture on hamburger buns.
  • Place in warm oven until warm.

2 tablespoons vegetable oil
2 tablespoons vinegar
2 tablespoons brown sugar
4 tablespoons lemon juice
1 cup ketchup
3 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
1/2 teaspoon prepared mustard
1/2 cup water
1 cup celery, diced
1 green pepper, diced (I use 1/2 pepper)
1 lb ground beef
1 large onion (I use 1/2)
hamburger bun

Steps:

  • Brown ground beef and drain.
  • Combine remaining ingredients bring to boil, add beef, reduce heat and simmer for 30 minutes.
  • Serve over toasted hamburger buns, open face style.

¼ cup vegetable oil
1 cup chopped celery
1 cup chopped onion
1 cup chopped green bell pepper
2 cloves garlic, minced
2 pounds ground beef
1 cup ketchup
1 cup chili sauce
½ cup water
2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
1 tablespoon white vinegar
2 teaspoons brown sugar
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon pepper
1 teaspoon dry mustard powder
1 teaspoon chili powder
½ teaspoon paprika
2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce

Steps:

  • Heat the oil in a large pot over medium heat. Stir in the celery, onion, green bell pepper, and garlic. Cook and stir until the vegetables have softened, about 5 minutes. Add the ground beef, increase the heat to medium-high, and stir until crumbly and browned, about 10 minutes.
  • Stir in the ketchup, chili sauce, water, parsley, vinegar, brown sugar, salt, pepper, mustard powder, chili powder, paprika, and Worcestershire sauce. Bring to a simmer, then reduce heat to medium-low, cover, and simmer 30 minutes, stirring occasionally.

2 pounds ground beef
1/2 cup catsup
1 egg, beaten
1 onion, chopped
1 teaspoon salt
1 cup Italian-flavored dry bread crumbs
8 hamburger buns, split

Steps:

  • In a large bowl, combine beef, catsup, egg, onion and salt; mix well. Form into 8 patties; flatten to desired thickness. Place bread crumbs in a shallow pan. Pat each side of patties in crumbs until coated. Place patties in a lightly greased 13"x9" baking pan. Bake, uncovered, at 350 degrees for 20 to 25 minutes, turning over after 8 minutes. Patties may also be pan-fried in a lightly greased skillet over medium heat. Cook on each side for 6 to 8 minutes, until lightly browned. Serve on buns. Tip: A muffin tin makes a terrific condiment server. Fill each of the cups with something different...catsup, mustard, relish, hot sauce, horseradish and pickle slices are all ideal toppings for sandwiches and burgers.

1 pound ground beef
½ cup fine dry bread crumbs

Steps:

  • Preheat an outdoor grill for high heat and lightly oil grate.
  • In a medium bowl, whisk together egg, salt and pepper. Place ground beef and bread crumbs into the mixture. With hands or a fork, mix until well blended. Form into 4 patties approximately 3/4 inch thick.
  • Place patties on the prepared grill. Cover and cook 6 to 8 minutes per side, or to desired doneness.
