4 cups brussels sprouts (halved)
4 garlic cloves (sliced)
2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes
1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
1/8 teaspoon pepper
1/8 teaspoon salt

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
  • Add Brussels sprouts and garlic cloves to a baking sheet.
  • Drizzle with olive oil.
  • Season with red pepper flakes, cayenne, pepper and salt. Toss to combine.
  • Place in the oven and cook for 20-25 minutes until tender and caramelized. Toss once or twice throughout cooking.
  • Take out of the oven and serve immediately.

2 tablespoons olive oil
1 ½ teaspoons Dijon mustard
¼ teaspoon sea salt
1 pinch red pepper flakes
1 pound Brussels sprouts

Steps:

  • Place a rack in the top third of the oven and preheat oven to 325 degrees F (165 degrees C). Line a baking sheet with aluminum foil.
  • Mix olive oil, Dijon mustard, sea salt, and red pepper flakes in a large bowl to make sauce.
  • Trim the stems of the Brussels sprouts to release outermost leaves, about 5 leaves from each sprout. Reserve cores to roast another time. Place leaves in the bowl of sauce; toss with your fingers until all the leaves are evenly coated. Spread leaves on the baking sheet in a single layer.
  • Roast leaves in the preheated oven until wilted and lightly browned, about 15 minutes. Transfer any crispy leaves to a serving plate and continue roasting, removing crispy leaves at 5-minute intervals, until all leaves are crispy, about 10 minutes more.

1 lb brussels sprouts, halved
4 tablespoons olive oil
½ teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon pepper
1 teaspoon garlic powder
¼ cup bread crumbs
¼ cup grated parmesan cheese

Steps:

  • Remove the stem from each sprout and cut in half. Place the brussels sprouts in a large bowl.
  • Add the rest of the ingredients to the bowl and toss to cover.
  • Spread the sprouts onto a baking sheet.
  • Bake in a 400˚F (200˚C) oven for 20 minutes.
  • Flip the sprouts, then bake for an additional 20 minutes or until the sprouts are fork-tender and golden.
  • Enjoy!

This recipe is from my mother. It may sound strange, but these are really good and very easy to make. The Brussels sprouts should be brown with a bit of black on the outside when done. Any leftovers can be reheated or even just eaten cold from the fridge. I don't know how, but they taste sweet and salty at the same time!

1 ½ pounds Brussels sprouts, ends trimmed and yellow leaves removed
3 tablespoons olive oil
1 teaspoon kosher salt
½ teaspoon freshly ground black pepper

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 400 degrees F (205 degrees C).
  • Place trimmed Brussels sprouts, olive oil, kosher salt, and pepper in a large resealable plastic bag. Seal tightly, and shake to coat. Pour onto a baking sheet, and place on center oven rack.
  • Roast in the preheated oven for 30 to 45 minutes, shaking pan every 5 to 7 minutes for even browning. Reduce heat when necessary to prevent burning. Brussels sprouts should be darkest brown, almost black, when done. Adjust seasoning with kosher salt, if necessary. Serve immediately.

  • Preheat oven to 400 degrees. On a large baking tray, toss Brussels sprouts with oil. Mix cumin, salt, cayenne and mango powder together and toss with oiled sprouts. Bake for 15 minutes, carefully stirring them once after 6 minutes. (The spices should be cooked and the Brussels sprouts slightly dry but not wilted). Remove from the oven and set aside. Serve with sour cream curry (separate recipe) over rice or over naan bread as an appy.
