Parmesan-Ranch Snack Mix image

This is a quick and delicious snack, especially for kids No one that I've made this for can have just one handful-they always come back for more . . and more! So if you are thinking of cutting the recipe in half to make less, I wouldn't recommend it. -Tammy Landry, Saucier, MS

Number Of Ingredients 6

9 cups Corn, Rice or Wheat Chex
2 cups miniature pretzels
2 cups Goldfish cheddar crackers
1/2 cup butter, melted
1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
1 envelope ranch salad dressing mix

Steps:

  • In a large bowl, combine cereal, pretzels and crackers. Drizzle with butter. Sprinkle with cheese and salad dressing mix; toss to coat., Microwave in batches on high 3 minutes, stirring every minute. Spread onto a baking sheet to cool. Store in an airtight container.

This came from my Southern Living magazine in an article about homemade food gifts for the holidays. I think nothing says love better than something homemade. It means you took time and thought into making someone a gift. Their suggestions for use are to toss with pasta, veggies, or popcorn, sprinkle over salads, mix with butter and baste hot baked bread with it, or use it in flour for breading chicken.

Number Of Ingredients 5

1 (8 ounce) container grated parmesan cheese
3 tablespoons dried Italian seasoning
3 tablespoons dried parsley flakes
1 tablespoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon ground red pepper

Steps:

  • Stir together all the ingredients. Package mixture in airtight containers and store in in a cool place or in the refrigerator.

  • Add more ingredients to taste.
  • Store in air tight container in refrigerator.
  • Sprinkle on pizza, french fries etc.
  • BBQ'ed packaged veggies.
